r if it's just from what we can get from it?

Also if I am seeking him for just what I can get out of it, how do I start seek him more from the right reasons.

You really just have to analyse your heart and ask yourself in full honesty what is the center of all your desires? Are you asking for things for your own self or are you seeking to glorify God? What is your mos prevalent desire you have your want or your relationship with God?

If you think you;re in the wrong mindset, then all you have to do is humble yourself and seek after a true relationship with Him. Truly set on understanding His ways to glorify Him and not yourself. If you humble yourself in that way he will lift you up and it will change you in the process because you are truly seeking to be like Christ to please God.

Hope that helps bro!

I think he means, what is our mindset for pursuing God? Some people pursue God thinking only of themselves, and this really holds a person back from a true relationshi[p wwith God.

Try doing something scary. Give your next paycheck to a charity of your choice and trust God to cover your expenses. Not going to say it works all the time, but when it does work it's amazing. Then you'll know you're not in the relationship for yourself.

You really are overanalysing. Think of your other relationships. Are you in those for selfish reasons. The fact that this concerns you shows you are on the right track. On the other hand the enemy would love to sidetrack you by accusing you. We are born selfish. God is the ultimate in selfless. Over a period of time you can expect to become more like him. You are young and God is not finished with you yet. 'Fret not fear not worry not.'

Sometimes our reasons for seeking God are not the best, sometimes we seek God for "fire insurance" rather than because we want him. Which is ok, The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. As time goes on he begins revealing our hearts and we begin to purify our desires. We do not have to have a perfect heart to be saved, but as time goes on he will improve it.

Is it ok to seek him because we're afraid of hell?
Mat 5:29
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and castitfrom thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and notthatthy whole body should be cast into hell.

Yes it is, but as we grow in the Lord it will no longer be our main reason for seeking him.

Seems like if your trying to learn of God means you think you love him. Don't think so much. Just love him and learn as much as you can all your whole life. Years ago I was reading the bible and it came to seek the Lord. My silly mind went to seek the Lord? What is this talking about? My mind went to me and my brothers and friends playing hide an go seek. So my mind was going off on what do I have to go and try to find him or what? The Lord talked and told me study me. So then I felt like a ding dong and oh ok, study him. So I started trying to learn about him. Have fun on your journey, ask him to help you. He will. God bless!
