AnRev, if anyone in this thread is mocking, it would be you. You are being hateful towards others. Show a little love towards your neighbor please?
If you think Love is bending over and conforming to others just because, then you should learn what love is. Doesn't God love all of us, yet he has determined that all should die and that in the end non conformists will deffinately die? How is that love, unless reform is also love?

To say that we don't sin is wrong considering the fact that we are not perfect.

17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

What is sin?

I read up above how you told someone to get out of the conversation or argument.
Tough love has no feelings. Love is an emotion that most people think is biblical, when in fact it isn't. Did your school teacher love you or teach you?</end subject>

Sin was spoken of by Jesus and they missed the boat then just like it is missed today. I happen to know what sin is and what it isn't. The question is will I share it with you?

"Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you." John 5:4

"She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." John 8:11

Most people and religions teach that these people went the rest of their lives with out breaking any Commandments, Ten or 613, or more. But this is not so. Sin rests on one thing, but no commandment.

Consider: Satan is the Man of Sin, yet he was never exposed to any commandment of God towards man. How is it that he sinned? Satan can follow any or all of the commandments anytime he wants to, will that bring repentance for his sins? And didn't hsi children also follow the law of Moses and Abraham?

"They answered and said to Him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham." John 8:39 "You do the deeds of your father." Then they said to Him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father-God." John 8:41 And then Jesus went on to say "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do." John 8:44

As you can see, following Abraham and the commandments are related to following the devil. How is that?

As for the comment I made " Take your arguments elsewhere," is a good example of misunderstanding. I was insulted and challenged to respond. However, my response was not what was expected. I owe nothing to anyone, and most certainly I am concerned over the wrong things that have been preached over the years and to people like yourself who belief what they hear and not what they read.

Case in point is this tread. Why is it that no one can agree on such a simple thing? We all read the same book. So, read, and if you believe the bible, then find and tell me what Jesus said sin was. And if Jesus was the one who said it, how can any person say otherwise and be correct?

Jesus spoke more of one thing than any other, TRUTH. Truth brings forth all things. Satan is the father of all lies.

"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24

How can you worship God if you do not know what truth is?

1 Corinthians 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there arethere is knowledge, it will vanish away. tongues, they will cease; whether
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

You are the ones accusing me of evil. I have not accused anyone here. Therefore, I must assume you work for Satan.

"Let this be the Lord's reward to my accusers, And to those who speak evil against my person." Ps 109:20

You forget, I don't have to be here. I don't have to share any of my knowledge with any of you. I can do what Jesus said to do, "let the blind lead the blind." Remember the ten virgin story, five who were ready and five who were not? Yet you present to know everything, and show me nothing.

The only reason you don't listen to anything I say is because you feel threatened by me because you cannot prove anything I say to be false. Religion often blinds people eyes and ears.

But when we speak the truth you throw it out immediately. Everything I have been testing according to the word and spirit and nothing you say is adding up. You want to know what Jesus says about sin here you go.

Matthew 5

The Sermon on the Mount

1Seeing the crowds,(A) he went up on the mountain, and when he(B) sat down, his disciples came to him.The Beatitudes

2And(C) he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: 3(D) "Blessed are(E) the poor in spirit, for(F) theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4"Blessed are(G) those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5"Blessed are the(H) meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6"Blessed are those who hunger and(I) thirst(J) for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7"Blessed are(K) the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8"Blessed are(L) the pure in heart, for(M) they shall see God.
9"Blessed are(N) the peacemakers, for(O) they shall be called(P) sons[a] of God.
10(Q) "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for(R) theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11(S) "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely(T) on my account. 12(U) Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for(V) so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Salt and Light

13"You are the salt of the earth,(W) but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. 14(X) "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15(Y) Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, so(Z) that they may see your good works and(AA) give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Christ Came to Fulfill the Law

17(AB) "Do not think that I have come to abolish(AC) the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but(AD) to fulfill them. 18For truly, I say to you,(AE) until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19(AF) Therefore whoever relaxes(AG) one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least(AH) in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds(AI) that of the scribes and Pharisees, you(AJ) will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Anger

21(AK) "You have heard that it was said to those of old,(AL) 'You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable(AM) to judgment.' 22But I say to you that(AN) everyone who is angry with his brother[b] will be liable(AO) to judgment; whoever insults[c] his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, 'You fool!' will be liable to(AP) the hell[d] of fire. 23(AQ) So if(AR) you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25(AS) Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison. 26Truly, I say to you,(AT) you will never get out until you have paid the last penny.[e]Lust

27(AU) "You have heard that it was said,(AV) 'You shall not commit adultery.' 28But I say to you that(AW) everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29(AX) If your right eye(AY) causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into(AZ) hell. 30(BA) And if your right hand(BB) causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into(BC) hell.Divorce

31(BD) "It was also said,(BE) 'Whoever divorces his wife, let him give her a certificate of divorce.' 32(BF) But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and(BG) whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.Oaths

33"Again(BH) you have heard that it was said to those of old,(BI) 'You shall not swear falsely, but(BJ) shall perform to the Lord what you have sworn.' 34But I say to you,(BK) Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for(BL) it is the throne of God, 35or by the earth, for it is his footstool, or by Jerusalem, for it is(BM) the city of the great King. 36And do not take an oath by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or black. 37Let what you say be simply 'Yes' or 'No';(BN) anything more than this comes from evil.[f]Retaliation

38(BO) "You have heard that it was said,(BP) 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39But I say to you,(BQ) Do not resist the one who is evil. But(BR) if anyone(BS) slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And(BT) if anyone would sue you and take your tunic,[g] let him have your cloak as well. 41And if anyone(BU) forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42(BV) Give to the one who begs from you, and(BW) do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.Love Your Enemies

43(BX) "You have heard that it was said,(BY) 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44But I say to you,(BZ) Love your enemies and(CA) pray for those who persecute you, 45(CB) so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and(CC) sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46(CD) For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers,[h] what more are you doing than others? Do not even(CE) the Gentiles do the same? 48(CF) You therefore must be(CG) perfect,(CH) as your heavenly Father is perfect.

No by what you have said if I tell you that you are wrong I'd be saying that Jesus is wrong. Well here is just one of the many examples that Jesus uses to explain what sin is. As what Matthew 5:17 says that he came to fulfill the law not to abolish it. Everything I have posted was not something that I have heard but by countless hours of study on God's word. Now I'm not the all knowing person here but I will say what the word says. Can you actually argue with Matthew 5? I don't believe so but I am expecting something from you :) so please let me know your thoughts.

Also love is not what you to make others feel good or whatever I do believe in tough love but what your saying is not love but hate. Your an intelligent woman and I do say thats awesome even though we don't agree on this subject but I do believe that 1 Corinthians 13 says that, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become a sounding brass or a clanging cymbol. 2And though I have the gift of prophecy and understanding all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, i am nothing."

Interesting.. I don't remember accusing you of anything. I simply just quoted Scripture and left out my own opinion.. Funny how that works when you quote the Word.. You don't even have to share your own opinion because.......

Hebrews 4
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Maybe something was just building up on your conscience, because I honestly didn't accuse you of anything..

Also : "Let this be the Lord's reward to my accusers, And to those who speak evil against my person." Ps 109:20

Could you put that in context? Let WHAT be the Lord's reward to his accusers?

The only reason you don't listen to anything I say is because you feel threatened by me because you cannot prove anything I say to be false.
I think the only reason why people don't listen to you is not because you don't speak the truth.. But you do not speak the truth in love.

Ephesians 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

That is the key. We can say something a million times but unless we speak in God's language.. LOVE.. Nobody will truly hear what we are saying.

Christ Came to Fulfill the Law
If the law was fulfilled, then what takes it's place?

And no, I am not asking because I do not know. Just like you think I asked what sin is. I know what sin is and I know that the commandments are done and over with.

"The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it." Luke 16:16

Now, I know the answer so don't think I'm asking, but I ask you, if the law and the prophets ended with John the baptist, then what has taken it's place?

You say I don't know what the truth is, not so. I was once like a lot of you, that is how I know what is going through your heads and minds. I do know what the TRUTH is. Maybe someday you will too.

How many commandments should we christians obey? Depends on what you're wanting in return from God, doesn't it. But is that still TRUTH?

I know what's going on here on CC. Many of you think that all followers of Jesus think and act the same way and if not should to bring oneness and completion to the body of Christ.

What I have brought to the table is controversy. You see, the average self claimed christian lives on belief and not knowledge. Which is not bad, but beliefs often loose sight of truth and religious practice takes over.

I find it interesting when a self proclaimed christian is faced with the very verses they use to condemn others they automatically condemn and calim that it is the other person who is blind and not them. How cliche'.

Like I said, not everyone agrees with the widespread teachings that take place everyday misguiding people. Especially the junk taught on television. I myself would rather be part of the solution, not the problem. True learning starts with listening, and yes, only God can show you the truth with the Holy Spirit that Jesus left behind.

What many of you fail to understand is that even Jesus said not everyone who calls on him will be saved. Yet that is not preached is it? Who then is leading those who do not teach the truth? God, or Satan? (and no, I am not asking for me, I am asking you)

I agree with you there :) .. Well that is something we can walk together on!!

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?

Hehe.. I think just the fact we are Christians and we fellowship together even though we disagree on certain things... Is good because it's about the heart and not the doctrine.. Not saying Satan doesn't have "Christian" doctrines.. Oh yes.. He does ....but only God can reveal that to someone not flesh and blood. Yes sometimes others can reveal it to us through Scripture but we have to be humble and admit to the possibility we may be wrong.
