“26 For you are all the Children of God by Faith in Christ Jesus. (Every person who is saved, and every person who has ever been or ever will be saved, is saved only by “Faith in Christ Jesus,” which refers to what He did at the Cross.)

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ (refers to the Baptism into His Death at Calvary [Rom. 6:3-5]; the reference is not to Water Baptism) have put on Christ (means to be clothed with Him [Jn. 14:20]).

“28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female (all have a common life in Christ Jesus): for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (This proclaims an end of all class, status, and social distinction. This phrase alone answers all racism.)

29 And if you be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed (Christ is Abraham’s Seed, so my union with Christ makes me Abraham’s seed as well), and heirs according to the Promise (heirs of God, and joint heirs with Jesus Christ [Rom. 8:17]).” Galatians 3

Faith in Christ is far more than believing in "what He did on the cross". A demon can believe Jesus died on a cross and not have "Faith in Christ"

You must believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah spoken of in Scripture (The Law and the Prophets), the very fulfillment of the law itself - achieving the purpose of the law and the Prophets in His life and ministry - that He died on the cross, The Son of God, The spotless Lamb and through that death overcame death and Hades rising victorious, having defeated death itself, inaugurated the Kingdom of Heaven, ushering us from the Old Covenant, into the promised New..

And believing truly that through the power of His blood sprinkled on the mercy seat we have new life, fully trusting in His atonement for our sins once and for all time we place all our faith in Him, turning from our false idols and false ideas Jew and Gentile alike, trusting in Him alone in perfect truth for our salvation.

That is the work of Christ we must believe in, I don't think it can be boiled down to a simple sentence because it takes a lot of understanding to understand even what I wrote.

There is more to correct but I'll leave it here for now.

There is one problem here and that is "maintain" is John the Baptist failed and lost because his faith wavered under the penalty befalling him?
If this is true we are all doomed, when have we not been pressed by the shadow of doubt. Peter turned his back on Christ having bodily embraced him, having seen the miracles first hand, after the hands of Jesus washed his own feet in the flesh, eye to eye, face to face, walking on a torrent sea with him hand in hand, What hope have we if this is the case? That a man with this intimate relationship can fail, then we also will fail.

Your flesh came to correct because what I said must be heard in Truth and in Righteousness (Proverbs 8:7-8), i.e., the Spirit and not the Letter. The flesh doesn’t understand or fail to receive that the Cross of Christ means the same as the Finished Work and the Blood of Jesus. Therefore if you leave the Cross, i.e., the Finished Work, i.e., the Blood of Jesus, you enter death.

Any Believer who tries to live for God in their own strength, will power, ability, intellect, is a transgressor (Gal. 2:18). We maintain our Faith placed exclusively in Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won by the power of the Holy Spirit; Who works exclusively between Christ and the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won (Rom. 8:2).

The Holy Spirit keeps all commandments for the Believer in Christ because the body is useless to God (Rom. 8:10,13).

How does the Holy Spirit keep this one:

Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

I think I'll just confess my weakness and inability and trust Christ for the whole shooting match. That even when I am faithless he remains faithful, because who he is.

I've encountered them on forums before. They pose as a member of Son Life Broadcasting, the network of Jimmy Swaggart ministries. Their copyrighted profile picture is from there.
They do not engage in conversation. Rather, as we see here as is usual on forums they're member of, they respond to posts directed toward them with scripture.
I do not think they even realize they're preaching to the choir here.

Even Jimmy Swaggart fell away when he was tempted and drawn away by HIS own lust!
God is RICH IN MERCY AND FORGIVENESS isn't He now! When repentance comes He forgives!

Even Jimmy Swaggart fell away when he was tempted and drawn away by HIS own lust!
God is RICH IN MERCY AND FORGIVENESS isn't He now! When repentance comes He forgives!
And yet after that television spectacle where Swaggart said, Lord! I have sinned against you! , he never detailed what sins he'd committed. I watched this when it happened. The people of the church, not the one he's in now, because he was tossed from his former post, could be heard in the background weeping aloud, crying, praying. The camera panned to his wife sitting on the platform and her face was stone. He said publicly then too, that he had sinned against her. She nodded. Of course he had.

Not long after, Jimmy was busted again. He'd been driving and had evaded police by not pulling over immediately. The reason for that? He was stuffing porno magazines under his seat. This was the testimony, and they were later found, of the prostitute he'd picked up prior. That was why the officer was after Jimmy's car in the first place.
Repentance means one feels sincere contrition, shame, remorse, for their offense. They ask God's forgiveness even though our sins are under the blood when we are saved and God remembers them no more. The confession of our sin to God is more for our benefit in knowing we've expressed our shame at realizing what we've done.

We don't repeat the same behavior over and over again and then on a Sunday morning preach about what it means to be in Christ.
Swaggart and his sin shamed not only himself, more than once, but his family as well. A wife who learns , more than once, that he husband takes God's money and gives it to harlots to pleasure him in the ways they do because of that money.
We don't know that Jimmy is reformed. We just know that he's older and in a different church now.

The problem is in the 'maintaining', where most, if not all, will fail at one time or another. Isn't the shed blood of Jesus dying on the cross sufficient for salvation? I believe that it is and I choose not to live in fear of failing to maintain and thus losing my salvation. Jesus said that He has not lost one that His father has given to Him. I will take Jesus at His word.
