Did Jesus say I love you to his disciples and those who sought him out?

I can't see a Bible verse where he actually says those words.

He did not tell Peter he loved him, it was the opposite.
He asked "Do you love me"

yes! He said something like...let me go try to find it.
And theres also "the disciple who Jesus loved."
And theres - Lord the one you love has died. (lazarus)

But neither of them are the one I'm not quite teasing from my mind - its something like...and they will know you love me, etc.

As the father has loved me so have I loved you.
Yes I agree Jesus said that.

But he did not say "I LOVE YOU"

He said as the Father has loved me so I have loved you"

Jesus prayed

"May they know that you love them as much as you love me"

But he did not say I love you.

He said "As I love you"

See the difference?

I will say this, Jesus did not have to say he loved us, His actions said it.. Actions speak louder than words anyway.

And He said: there's no greater love than a man laying down his life for his friends. And then He did that very thing. :)

Maybe I am.

But there is a reason behind my post.

Maybe I'm being to cryptic.

Jesus from what I can see never ever said I love you.

He asked Peter, do you love me?

Peter said yes I do.

John 21:17-20

17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”
And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. 18 Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” 19 This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”
20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”

So my precious sister what do you think I'm trying to get at?
What is the point I'm trying to make?
