those who marry will face many troubles in this life, and I want to spare you this.
If a marriage "in the Lord" brings trouble, all the more so will marriage to an unbeliever.

For it is written, "If any one thinks that he is not behaving proper toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry-it is not a sin (1 Corinthians 7:36)." And here the betrothed may be a believer or an unbeliever.

Someone can be betrothed to you at a very young age when he/she knows nothing. This tradition is common in Israel, in the Middles East and in Africa in those days. And it is still practice today. Now, you can see that the betrothed may be a believer or an unbeliever.
But if any man think that he behaves himself uncomely toward his virgin (does not speak of a sweetheart as it seems here, but rather the Father of this young lady), if she pass the flower of her age (was considered to be twenty years old at that time; as such, she must now be allowed to make her own decision concerning marriage, etc.), and need no require, let him do what he will, he sins not (due to the daughter now being an adult, she is free to make her own decisions, with the Father no longer responsible): let them marry. 1 Cor. 7:36 KJV
