Some believe only Christian know right or wrong, because Holy Spirit in them teach them.

Some believe non Christian also know steal is wrong, you do not need Holy spirit to know that steal is wrong

Can any body explain this phenomena?

Do we need Holy spirit to know right or wrong? Or natural man know the different between right and wrong?

Hi Jackson, those who do not have the Law of God (Mosaic Law) will be judged by God on the basis of the law that they do possess and understand, which in some cases may be nothing more than the basic moral laws that God writes in the heart of every man, woman child. So yes, even w/o the indwelling of the HS, the "natural" man/woman knows right from wrong (at least on a very basic level).

.........Romans 2
.........12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
.........13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.
.........14 Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though

.........they do not have the law,
.........15 since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their .........thoughts.now accusing, now even defending them.

.........16 This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Well demons knew Jesus was the Son of God but many around him didn't believe he was, who called themselves Godly people.

It is G-d's inherent design that we know right from wrong (scripture reminds that Adam and Eve covered themselves once they sinned)......because they knew. But, we need the Holy Spirit to jog us and remind us that we are wrong and that we must make it right with G-d by seeking forgiveness.

Hey! Jackson... PTL!
Every person born into the world and is without faith, will be judged by the standard contained within the OT letter of the Law. Like mentioned before, we all have consciences that tell us after the fact, sadly, when our hearts have been offended. The New Covenant actually deals with this very issue by the ministry of the Holy Spirit in writing the Lord's laws and commandments upon the tables of our hearts and minds; renewing our consciences to see sin as Jesus does, here a little, and there a little, as we make time for devotions in the word of righteousness with the Lord. In fact, until believers deals with their sins, he or she will remain babes in Christ; who are fed on the milk of the word until after they have matured by having had their senses exercised to discern good from evil.

Heb 8:9, 10 "Not according to the covenant that I made with their father in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. For this is the covenant that will make with the house of Israel, after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be unto them a God, and they shall be to me a people.

Gal 3:23-25 "But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith that should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come we are no longer under a schoolmaster."

Heb 5:12-14 "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principals of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For everyone that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of uses have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.

let's put it this way, God have written the moral law in the conscience of gentile's hearts
the only way they won't know is when their conscience is seared to the point of not knowing.

Non Christians can know right and wrong from the laws of the land. If they steal and they get caught they will go to jail. Same if they murder someone. Parents of non Christians more than likely have a code or standard that they live by and will teach it to their children. I have known many non Christian people who are very nice and live within the laws of the land.

Everyone is born with a conscience but if they don't listen to it they will get into trouble.

I feel bad for them from a standpoint of they don't know God even though they can be good law abiding people but all people in the world need Jesus as their Savior since we as humans are sinful by nature. It's up to us Christians to introduce them to God and Jesus to help them get to know Him and accept Him as their Savior.

And too...
Sin has consequences or a just recompense. A spiritual, a soulish, and a physical consequence. Let's take alcoholism for example:
The spiritual consequence requires Jesus's blood. A soulish consequence of alcoholism is ruined relationships. And a physical consequence of alcoholism is destroyed brain cells and a ruined liver. Things such as this also lets all of us know that there is a cost for sin.

he practice yoga. It may cause him hate God. Yoga was not only exercise, It was design to worship shiva.

Romans 8:7 - The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so

The existence of God is needed to know what is objectively right or wrong, but you do not have to have a personal belief to accept that something is right or wrong.

The existence of physical laws is needed for you to fall to the ground, but you do not have to believe in it for it to work.

Atheists can be "good people", even better ones than many Christians.

They definately know right from wrong. Everyone does. To say they dont is to excuse people's behavior.

But lets also remember that feeding the poor, or doing good works does not gain us salvation..
You can feed the world, and commit one sin and its game over. Only the blood of Jesus can wash that stain of sin away!

The reason The Bible refers to the ......hardened heart. Further, once that occurs the HS leaves and will not return.

So God is the reason people know right or wrong, even If one non Christian.the different is Christian aware the voice that tell them right is God/Holy spirit, non Christian not aware.
