JESUS’ HIGH PRIESTHOOD IS FOREVER

Jesus is our High Priest forever. This “forever” aspect changes the way we are blessed and how we receive our blessings from God. As our High Priest, Jesus represents us before God. Since His priesthood is after the order of Melchizedek, which is one of righteousness, His righteousness becomes our righteousness forever. This means that we are forever righteous in God’s eyes!

And because He will never die, but continue as our High Priest forever, we have an everlasting righteousness, not merely a here-today-gone-tomorrow righteousness based on our works. No, we have a perpetual and everlasting righteousness because Jesus is our High Priest forever.

This also means that blessings are perpetually on your head because the Bible says that blessings are on the head of the righteous (Proverbs 10:6), and you are righteous forever!

Unlike the priesthood according to the Levitical order, which blesses as well as curses, the priesthood of Jesus according to the Melchizedek order only blesses. There is no cursing, only blessing—always and forever!

And because Jesus is our High Priest forever, the blessings do not come to us in intermittent drips, but stream into our lives in a never-ending flow. Because He is our High Priest forever, we can never stop His blessings.

By being our High Priest forever, Jesus also touches the blessings that He gives us with a forever effect. He touches our lives and we have eternal life. He touches our ministry and its impact becomes eternal. And the more we see His priesthood as having a forever effect, the more permanent our blessings will be.

Truly, there is nothing temporal about what Jesus our High Priest does. It is not a case of blessed today, cursed tomorrow. The blessings we receive are sure and steadfast because Jesus is our High Priest today, tomorrow and forever.

So rejoice because Jesus your High Priest changes how you are blessed forever!

Psalm 32:1-5
1{A Psalm of David, Maschil.} Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
2Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.
4For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

I love the fact that proper doctrine about the person of Jesus touches on and answers the questions we have about the Christian life for us today as believers. Many of the threads here touch on questions about what the Bible says happens in this situation with a believer or that situation with a believer.

As I've heard said before... right believing leads to right living. Amen!

Righteousness is a gift given at the time we were saved so our right standing never depends on what we do but what Jesus has already done.

If we are in Him... (and ALL who have JESUS are) we have His righteousness and ARE IN HIM... that righteousness is always and forever. Because "HE" lives... we live. Jesus lives after the power of an endless life. Hebrews 7:16.

[SUP]
16 [/SUP]Who has been constituted a Priest, not on the basis of a bodily legal requirement [an externally imposed command concerning His physical ancestry], but on the basis of the power of an endless and indestructible Life.

That truth alone could and should dispel any questions about whether God is for or against you. If you know you are IN Jesus., you will also be learning to know more and more how God is always for you and not against you. And daily growing in the knowledge of His grace and truth because as He is... so are we in this world...1 John 4:17

[SUP]
17 [/SUP]In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world.

Yes, Jesus's ministry was on the order of Melchizedek who was a King and a Priest. Jesus is a King, Priest and Prophet., The Church (Body of Christ ) will also be Kings and Priest.

Psalm 32:1-5

3When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long.

5I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

As I've grown in my understanding of Jesus and who I am in Him., I confess my righteousness IN Christ and the sure foundation of that righteousness..... JESUS

When I sin I realize that in my flesh dwells no good thing and that now I am not condemned because Jesus paid for all my sin and the Bible says there is no condemnation to those who are IN Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1-3

Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus.
[SUP]
2 [/SUP]For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

[SUP]
3 [/SUP]For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [
[SUP][a][/SUP]the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [[SUP][b][/SUP]subdued, overcame, [SUP][c][/SUP]deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],

Now when God sees me (and I see myself) it's in the full righeousness of Christ. So although as I walk in this world and go through trials and tribulations., I am not condemned but instead declared righteous IN Jesus. My battle is not about sinning anymore., it's about seeing what God says I am IN Christ and believing His truth instead of my own.

When I see this truth and walk IN it., I learn how not to sin and how to BEHAVE as a true son working from my right standing IN Christ.

The Bible says because His seed remains in me., I cannot sin. This means God doesn't SEE my sin but instead sees my right standing in Christ. 1 John 3:9

[SUP]9 [/SUP]No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and [SUP][a][/SUP]habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.

This doesn't mean we don't sin., the flesh is something we learn to control but NOT through the flesh but through the - spirit. This means our NEW Man is being transformed daily into the image of Jesus.

It means we are growing into what that seed implanted in us IS... becoming mature sons. Heirs and joint heirs in Christ. A young child can't drive his dads car yet but when he grows more mature in time... that is just one of the parts of his inheritance.

1 Peter 1:23 [SUP]23 [/SUP]You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal [SUP][a][/SUP]origin ([SUP][b][/SUP]seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.

This is such a lovely picture meant to illustrate abiding on the Vine and bearing much fruit by being lifted up. That is what Jesus does., He lifts us up so that we can bear more fruit. Amen.

Gen 14:18
Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High

Our high priest is also the King of righteousness, King of Peace and King of Jerusalem.

Praise him!
