But I must ask the question, what does this have to do with the Law? With the old covenant? With what I posted originally? Are you saying that because of the sabbath, and only because of the sabbath, that we are still under the old covenant, and thus under the Law?

He is talking about the Sabbath of Genesis 2, not the Sabbath provisions of the law. Israel believes that since Genesis does not mention the end of the seventh day, that seventh day is still going on. His theology is built around this idea.

What I'm saying is that this is the stumbling stone that puts a person under the law. For example, a question for you. Will a righteous Muslim who loves God and loves his neighbor as himself be saved?

I don't know about anyone being righteous, as scripture holds us all as being unrighteous.

I don't understand what you mean by stumbling stone. What is the stumbling stone?

What I believe about those who are not in Christ Jesus is this, in the resurrection, some will be resurrected to life, because they have done good deeds. But, and this is not negotiable, if one is not in Jesus Christ, has not received the new birth by His Spirit, then they cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of heaven will be inhabited by the children of God, that is, those who are born of Him, by His Spirit. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Yeah, I sort of gathered that, at least suspected. What I was trying to do was to get him to state his position clearly, without a lot of stuff involved.

I believe that a position should be such that it can be put in just a few words, clear and concise, without dissembling.

I am not adverse to the seventh day still going on, but it still holds that the weekly sabbath is a celebration of that sabbath, a type of that sabbath. When God offered His covenant to the children of Israel in the wilderness, it was with the express purpose of having them enter His rest, His sabbath. They hardened their hearts, did not listen to His voice, and God swore that they would not enter His rest. I ask what good their practicing the sabbath rites weekly did them? None, because they did not enter into His rest, but rather looked at this rest from far off.

Thank you brother,
In Christ,
