Matthew 12:39,40,41(also: Luke 11:29); "But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jo'nas: (40) For as Jo'nas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart(belly) of the earth. (41) The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this gereration, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jo'nas; and, behold, a greater than Jo'nas is here."

Jonah 1:1; "Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,"

Jonah's name means.........dove, wine, sons of God........
Amittai's name means........Truth.........

Jonah 1:2; "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me."

Naham 2:11(talking about Nineveh vs.8); "Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp (her doctrines she gives to her young) and none made them afraid?"

Nahum 3:1; "Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;"

Jonah 1:4; "But the Lord sent out a great wind(trubulation)(Ezekiel 5:2) unto(not on) the sea, and there was a mighty tempest(storm, earthquake ..Rev. 6:12) in the sea, to that the ship was like to be broken."

Jonah 1:5; "Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides(Isralites crossed red sea with both sides of water) of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep(five foolish virgins)."

Jonah 1:7; "And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us, So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.(they also cast lots with Jesus cloths)

Jonah 1:10; "Then were the men exceedingly afraid, and said unto him, Why hast thou done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them"
(they were broken hearted)

Jonah 1:14; "Wherefore they cried unto the Lord, and said, We beseech thee, O Lord, we beseech thee(the heathen will worship the Lord after the tribulation)(twice will happen), let us not perish for this man's life, and lay not upon us innocent blood: for thou, O Lord, hast done as it pleased thee"(sounds like Pilate's words about Jesus)

Johan 1:15; "So they took up Jonah, and cast( cast..Rev. 2:18-22...church of Thyatira)) him forth into the sea: and the sea(turmal, tribulation) ceased from her raging.

Jonah 1:17; "Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly(womb)(belly means broken hearted...as Jesus was) of the fish three days and three nights."(Psalms 31:9; "Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.")

Jonah was in the sea before he was swolled.

Jonah 2:1,2; "Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly, (2) And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord and he heard me; out of the belly of hell (Rev. 6:8) cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Jonah 2:3; "For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves(Jeremiah 51:42) passed over me."(Psalms 68:22; "The Lord said, I will bring again from Basham, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea.)
(Isaiah 28:2; "Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest(tribulations) of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.")

Jeremiah 51:42,55; "The sea is come upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. (55) Because the Lord hath spoiled Bablyon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered."

Jonah 2:4,5 "Then I said, I am cast out of they sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. (5) The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds(#5488 same as reed Mark 15:17...around Jesus head) were wrapped about my head."

Jonah 2:6; "I went down to the bottoms of the mountains(would be the valley of decision)(Jonah couldn't see so this is a metaphore); the earth with her bars(like jail/captivity..Psalms 107:16) was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God."
This is where you see Jonah is repenting and understands.

Jonah 2:10; "And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited(spur out/spits out/throws up...Rev.3:16...church of Laodicea) out Jonah upon the dry land."
(The Isralites crossed over on dry land)

Jonah 3:4; "And Jonah began to enter into a city a day's journey, and he cried and said, Yet fourty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown." (I will overturn, overturn, overturn Ezek. 21:27)
God spoke to Jonah twice.....but the bible is saying that there will be one more...the tribulation.

the only question that sticks out is this one;

Jonah 1:5; "Then the mariners were afraid, and cried every man unto his god, and cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to lighten it of them. But Jonah was gone down into the sides(Isralites crossed red sea with both sides of water) of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep(five foolish virgins)."

you see Jesus was asleep too in the boat while the disciples freaked out and he just rebuked the storm and all 10 virgins fell asleep, 5 didnot bring vessels with extra oil and were foolish but all 10 were asleep.

it was interesting to read, I will pray and see what God tells me about it all.i don't really get the message sorry.

may God's peace abide in your heart and your helmet of salvation protect you.
