Yes, I've considered that knowledge without humility brings pride. As Paul said, you can know all mysteries but if you don't have love, you have nothing.
Paul was making a rhetorical point, about people who suppose that they operate in spiritual gifts.
That operating in love is more important than spiritual gifts. That passage has nothing to do with intimate knowledge of the scriptures.
God's word is efficacious. That it is the word of God that produces Godly love.
That no one has Godly love unless they have the word. And that who has not love has not the word. Because just as God is love he is also his word. The love of God and his word are inseparable.
Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
I john chapter 4 says that who ever listens to us ( the us being the apostles who are bringing the word of God) is of God, and Then goes on to say that who ever loves is of God. We know by this that it is not an either or proposition, they go hand in hand.

Because the word produces faith, and faith, hope, and love abide; love being the greatest. Also the word then must produce hope and love, and love more so.

What, do we think that while the word produces faith that we must summon up love from some other source?

I don't understand what the disagreement here is.

The greatest spiritual gift is Love, for God not only is Spirit, but He is Love.

I don't understand what the disagreement here is.
That one can have intimate knowledge of God's word but not have love.
Because it is written that is someone has not love they do not know God. To know the scripture is to know God. So if you know the scriptures you will have love. If you claim to know the scripture but do not have love you do not know the scriptures.
