Luke 6:27-28"but I say to you who hear:love your enemies,do good to those who hate you,"bless those who curse you ,and pray for those who pitifully use you.
This is not easy I use to struggle with this but now that I'm maturing and with the strength from God it's starting to grow on me.forgiveness is freedom"if the son has set you free you are free indeed".
Is anyone struggling in that area?

I find as I grow in the knowledge of His love and grace, God's love has a way of outworking itself out through me.
The struggle is over.

It is liberating to be able to love (agape) those I don't love (phileo) or even like.

I pray for the salvation of my enemies and truly mean it, but that doesn't mean I'll be inviting my enemies over for dinner any time soon. I dislike them for a reason.

To love ones enemies is something that happens inside the heart and not in an instance but over time. I don't think disliking and not loving are the same thing though, Jesus disliked the Pharisees but I am sure he still loved them.

God is teaching me to see people as He did-lost sheep. This has removed most of my fangs, it is a difficult lesson when confronted with the evil displayed by mankind but I'll leave the judging to the One who knows the inner most heart.

It's getting easier as I get older to let go of things. After my 44 years on earth I can look back on lots of examples where God has always come thru....so I pretty much just say to myself...why worry about it man (that's what I call myself...man) because...it... by the grace of God will work out in the end.

Paul's whole heart, if we read him right, was that he was relating and telling them and us this day,
that through much struggle and tribulation, there will be victory, IF we continue in the Faith...

the small written word, 'IF', has monumental consequences as far as the scriptures speak, and that is,
into Eternity,,,,

Who we perceive our enemies to be usually needs to be seen through the perspective of Christ's eyes. Most of all you will realize that you really are not the target. You are just the one there for another person to unleash his anger/frustration on. If not you, it would be another.

The second thing you might see is that a lot of people really can't do better. They are unable to. Either because of unhealed hurts they, themselves, have not had healed, or they have emotional problems you can not see.

That is why we are told to pray for them. Loving them is only truly wishing them to be delivered from the pain they are coming from. And it is caring enough to pray that they discover Christ, their heavenly Father, as they have never seen Him before.
