It's not a waste of time to say the truth.
I don't know why people think sola Scriptura is so when the Bible doesn't teach it. Protestants don't really believe the Bible alone, they believe the things they read INTO the Bible that are NOT THERE IN THE BIBLE.
Sola Scriptura IS NOT THERE IN THE BIBLE. Neither is FAITH ALONE.
That's why I take time to tell you all the truth, because I was deceived for many years.

Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Belief is the fist step, but its not the only step.

amen, yet if we dont believe what is there to obey

God rewards those who diligently seek Him in truth and spirit
