I would say Merry Christmas on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It isn't even Christmas yet. It's Advent. Up until Christmas, I would say "Have a nice day!"

We have been told that where I work or at least asked not to say Merry Christmas. but it is pushed down from the higher up and is not really enforced as of yet if a customer complained about someone saying Merry Christmas then they may be forced to enforced the rule , but as of yet I still say Merry Christmas. this is a tough issue there is something in the Bible about obeying the laws of the Land. But if those laws contradict with our beliefs, then we have a decision to make , the disciples were told not to preach Jesus anymore , and they said should it be better for us to listen to man or to God, and I think as time goes on that just merry Christmas won't be the only test, that even preaching/churches, itself will be quieten by the law

You say "Happy Holidays." There are a lot of holidays going on, so the kindest and most inclusive thing a business can do is use that phrase rather than just focusing on one holiday. So just do it. What's the big deal?

Mr 8:38Whosoever therefore shall be ASHAMED of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ASHAMED, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

But...Christmas is December 25th. Why would you say "merry Christmas" any other day but on Christmas? Surely, non-Christians won't be celebrating Christmas, so they can't have a merry or un-merry Christmas. They just might be taking advantage of the sales.

Like I say, on the other 364 days of the year, tell folks to have a nice day. On Christmas, say "merry Christmas." If you want to be a real pain in the neck, wish people a prayerful Advent from now until December 25. Merry Christmas from December 25th to January 5th (these are the 12 days of Christmas called Christmastide). Onl January 6th, you can say "Happy Epiphany!"

It isn't Christmas folks. It's Advent until December 25th.

Simple, just say Happy Holidays. Is it that difficult to do?

One would only submit through fear.

Jesus Christ died on the cross for my fear.

I doubt your boss could legally say that to you, though he could anyway, and fire you if you disobeyed.

I think I would start out be asking my boss why he was requiring me to do that.

hmmmm. interesting. I once was asked by my boss in an agency meeting to agency fee our clients upon cancellation. I boldly refused in front of the entire staff and told him that if thats what he wants then he needs to not have me do it as to me an agency fee is agreed upon prior to the inception of a policy and not a grab upon cancellation. we receive our commision up front we have no right to agency fee even if we are losing the business, to me this is theft of our clients money. I refused, he turned red, i stated my reasoning that as an independant licensee with a designation & accountable to the brokerage association personally, I would not put my license in jeopardy for a couple of bucks, although it may be justified in other brokerage workings. they said ok fine & then a few months later they called me in... me & 4 senior co workers had been meeting daily behind closed doors... they wanted to know what was up behind those doors... union formation discussion perhaps???? I told them actually we were praying for the success of our company (recently purchased by the 2 of them from a huge multinational brokerage) again the one partner turned red. I suppose my point is to boldly stand up for your belief and for things that you believe go against being a good Christian and you will be respected for it in the end. To this day even if they are full staffed, they have stated they have a position for me. Wanna know why??? they trust me in my CHRISTIANITY!!! I boldly declaire merry Christmas as the season is about celebrating the birth of Christ (yeah it doesnt matter that its not the exact day or so some say... this is the time we choose to celebrate Christ) As Christians we can not allow anyone to steal that right. I'd be inclined to tell my boss, you know what I respect your choice to not allow me my Christmas in your work environment but i will say merry Christmas & seasons greetings or merry christmas & Happy holidays, unless you'd rather me say praise Jesus & seasons greetings. Give the boss a choice... they love choices. :D

The question wasn't whether we were ashamed to be Christians. Your comment is a total non sequitor. Christmas, as a holiday, was established generations after the time of Jesus, and the bible itself says that we do not need to make any day holier than any other.

so we take one day that was set aside and take Christ out of it and give to to man Happy Holidays , why not go ahead and give them Sundays , oh wait yeah we have already give them that also. I guess it will be ok to say HAPPY X-MAS, also , NOT!!!

MERRY CRISTMAS EVERYONE!

It is ok to say Xmas, because the X stands for Christ. Read some history.

I say double Xmas, i.e. XXMas, because ChristChristmas has more of Christ in it than Christmas.
