1 Timothy 6:10

New International Version
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

In some ways, perhaps... but as scripture says, it's not the money that's bad... it's the LOVE of money that causes problems. The same could be said for nearly anything that a person loves and covets...

Money is only evil if you worship and crave it. God blessed plenty of people in the Bible with riches. So there's nothing wrong with having money. It's how you go about it and what you do with it that makes the difference.

Amen...well said!

What it really shows is our unbelief that our Father will look after us and that we already have all things in Christ and to be content with what we have now while looking for ways for the Lord to increase us so that we can be a blessing to others and thus establish the kingdom of God and show the Lord's love and grace to them.

Imagine if all Christians that could be trusted with this world's riches had 10 million dollars now at their disposal and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to show forth the goodness and love of God to those that are in dire need in this world.

Coming back to it, I find it odd how a lot of arguments from marriages are due to financial reasons. I understand the whole providing for the family, but are financial reasons really a good reason for divorce? I've seen quite a few folks on here alone that although that might not be the sole reason, it generally is a big one. And it just doesn't happen overnight. So that frustration about money pents up over time. Am I missing something about this?

Love of Money breaks the very first commandment:

"You shall have no other gods before Me. (Ex 20:3)

Many think (correctly) that this speaks to idolatry, but it extends to other things in life we prioritize above God.
Money, sex, fame, control, status, security...our generation puts these idols above God. In this, we are just as idolatrous as the pre-exile Hebrews.
