Even within a city with many churches, there are always "unreached people groups". If a church plant can reach an individual that my church cannot, then God bless them. I always assume that is the case when a new church opens in my very small community.

Forty years ago, did cable TV exist? What movies were out then and what special effects were used?
Today, we NEED some things to catch people's attention (videos, lights, etc.).
Also, when you watch preaching on TV, ever notice how they change the camera angles from time to time? They do that in order to KEEP your attention.
It all works.

In order to preach to people who've been exposed to today's hi-tech movies and games, you need to try harder to get their attention and keep it.

Do all that but with the Gospel. "The Passion of the Christ" was a GREAT attention grabber.

Finally, I believe that everybody needs to get back to the One Foundation of the Christian Church: Christ.
King David DANCED before God. When was the last time you did that in your congregation?

Just a thought for the peeps.

God is bringing His Church into everything He has called it to. He restores in stages. When God desires to bring the new he often needs to raise up a new generation to do it with because the old has camped around the truth that was restored in the last move and have become religious and God is unable to bring the new move in old wineskins as the would break, so He uses new wineskins that do not have the mindsets that resist what He is doing. That is why the old usually persecutes the new. What needs to happen is the old needs to embrace the new and come in to present truth, and the new needs to honour and respect the old, as they took up the baton and were used of God in the last move.

But on the flip side, there is many churches that are not the work of the Holy Spirit, but are man made and man built. There will always be genuine and non genuine articles, real and counterfeit, true and false. God is restoring the five fold office of Apostle in these days and true Apostles are being raise up and are walking in authority like the early Apostles, but there are also many who have tried to jump on the bandwagon, declaring themselves apostles, when they were never called or made apolstles by Jesus Christ. This doesnt negate the true apostolic authority that is being established in the earth, the tares always grow up with the wheat.

The church was never meant to stay the same, and then one day Jesus return and make it all better. He is building a glorious church, a spotless bride, a holy city and by the time Christ returns the Church will be in its full glory and will be a mighty army and a display God in His fullness.

People pleasing, seeker sensitive churches will always compromise and chose acceptance from man over acceptance from God every time, and they soften and water down the gospel so as not to offend. The gospel was meant to offend, and the true gospel attract great resistance from the world, but also bring great freedom to those who believe. Your not saved by being convinced to pray a simple prayer and walking away, your saved when the word of God convicts you and you believe the Word a(gospel of Jesus' sacrifice) and you are made alive by His Spirit and you are purged through the fires and trials and die to your self and have Christ formed in you and perservere to the end.

True apostolic order is returning to the earth, by the will of God, and the body will and can only be regulated and function correctly with Jesus Christ as the HEAD, that is what the Apostolic is all about.. As She will receive True Life and be what she was always meant to be. Amen.

One of the most difficult tasks that lies ahead of each of us is knowing when to allow the new, both in our own lives and in our congregations.

Having said that, the new generation must also allow for the elder generations. There are some changes which are nigh impossible. I cannot sing as well as I use to and it is more difficult for me to learn new songs (mostly because hearing goes a little dim). It takes great wisdom, but I do not believe that it is God's will for a congregation to be composed almost entirely of one generation. Both the elder and the younger must stretch to make room for the other.
