Still sort of confused on this. I know there are others here who are way more seasoned in the Word then me. How do I truly know when a dream is from God? Does God give dreams of death? Does he warn you? Does he give dreams to tell you to do something? I try not to google my dreams, but I want to understand I pray but I still don’t understand dreams sometimes. I have had dreams about the rapture, about grim reaper walking past me, my mom dying. Sorry so long, I feel confused, anxious about this. ( sorry if I’m under the wrong board for this).

Knowing if a dream is from God or not takes discernment which is something that God helps you develop in time. But yes he does give you dreams like that the reason for it varies. Would you mind telling me this dream? I may be able to help you understand it

Ok. So I have had dreams like I was standing at one end of the bridge and the grim reaper like character standing at the other side. It was gray and cloudy. I didn’t want it to get me so I started walking it came towards me... I then somehow flew past like zooomed like some cartoon and it walked past me and didn’t say anything. I looked back at it it didn’t it just keep walking the other side of the bridge.


The next one I saw my self crying and I mean crying hard thinking my mom died. I then saw my mom and sister talking to each other it’s like they had peace and it’s like we were the only ones they could see her. Then it was a skeleton in front of me dancing I then woke up.

Well as far as the grim reaper and the bridge I could be wrong but I believe that is a representation of how death is coming. A lot of people have had dreams and visions of the end times and I myself have seen mass death and horrors of the tribulation in fact death is prophesied to come in revelation. you zooming past him I believe is God telling you how death will not touch you and I think you crossing to the other side of the bridge could be you going to other side like in the rapture or something. Also if your mom and sister were talking and at peace I think it may mean they went with you and your crying and being afraid they died could be the result of you worrying about them in real life but them being at peace and talking could be God assuring you not to worry. the dancing skeleton is beyond me lol

The skeleton yeah idk. It’s like three nights in a row I had rapture dreams, the next night was the grim reaper dream

Wow three nights in a row? I have had lots of rapture dreams but not three in a row

Yes but what bothers me... is one was amazing the other two was me being tricked thinking it was the rapture and it wasn’t... then the next night that’s the grim dream

Well there are some who believe there is going to be a fake rapture and knowing how the enemy loves to copy God and then pervert it honestly I wouldn't be surprised if that indeed would be the case so maybe that is what the fake ones were?

You may be right. I’m like ok God, what’s this about?

The one that gets me is my mom dying or thinking she died and only we could see her I was crying so so so hard!

Well sometimes we don't know the meaning of our dreams until later, what I think it means may be different than what it really is or perhaps only parts of it and other times it takes the interpretation of other believers to help put the pieces together. I had a vision in my first year of being saved that made no sense at all but as time went by and as God and I became closer and closer suddenly the meaning just clicked.
