If you had been a christian all your life as you claim then you should know how many drinks it takes you to get drunk.
What? What has being a Christian to do with knowing one's own ability to hold drink?

A true christian would have no idea how many drinks it took them to get drunk because they wouldn't be getting drunk, unless of course they got drunk before their conversion. However Mahogony claims he has been a christian since birth.

...I see the speck in his eye, but it's not nearly as distracting as the plank in yours.

Or if they got drunk after conversion. Christians still make mistakes.

But I think many can just know when another drink would tip them over the edge; people who drink get a feel for it and understand how it affects them.

Then they should repent and stop drinking.

If you have drank enough to know the next drink would put you over the edge you have already drank too much.

No, repent and not get drunk again.

If you have drank enough to know the next drink would put you over the edge you have already drank too much.
By 'over the edge' I meant 'in the state of being drunk'. Obviously they haven't drunk too much if they're not drunk.

If you are truly serving God you wouldn't be pushing the line to see how much you can get away with. You wouldn't want to even come close to any line, you wouldn't do anything that could even possibly offend your God.

Well I been a christian longer than you have.
What does it matter how long you have been a christian.
if you have been a christian longer. then you should be more mature and show humbleness.

Well, obviously you're not too worried about offending God, considering how many times you pretend to be Him.

It's not about pushing any lines or getting away with anything, it's just about having a few drinks. If you know when to stop before getting drunk then that's absolutely fine.

No it is not, and a true disciple of Christ would never claim it was.

Let's try the reverse logic of this point. If you say it is ok to drink but not to get drunk, how can you know how many drinks it takes to get drunk if you have never gotten drunk? Some people get drunk at 1 drink and so your statement that 2 or 3 is OK may be misleading and sinful.

And yes you are basing a person's christianity on how many drinks they have, so you obviously don't know what a christian is. A true disciple of Christ would never judge or question another person's christianity in the way you have.

Um random question...but,

How did this thread go from the topic of premarital sex, to the topic of alcohol/drunkeness?

Just curious, since I just flipped immediately to the last page, and all of a sudden the topics have switched.

I'm hoping someone can answer this without telling me to go back and read it all...do you know how many threads I read every day?

Methinks there are those that need to take a closer look at the actual meaning of the word rendered as "fornicator" or "whoremonger".
