It is a personification of Wisdom. It is spoken of as a woman. But the wisdom here is that which is of God. It is found in His Word and emulates His character. It is not the wisdom of this world... conventional wisdom... or one's natural inclinations.

Nice summary. I would add that the wisdom of God is not hidden by God, but by our own sinful nature and foolishness. It calls to us and to all on the earth. this makes an interesting perspective on the Romans scripture: "Professing to be wise, they became fools..."

It is saying that wisdom is always there to be attained if one wants it,and that wisdom is better than any thing on this earth.

The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.When you fear the Lord,then wisdom is starting in your life,which will lead you unto eternal life.
