If its deeply engraved in your life I would suggest two things: One if its a sin that needs to be forgiven then first get forgiveness from who you have offended then take it to God lots of the time we only go to God but forget the ones we have offended. If that does not help Christ said to fast and pray. When you are fasting pray each day that you are trusting on God to deliver you from this sin, which you are helpless to defeat on your own. Fasting shows God that you believe he is your daily bread or sustenance which connects you closely with him and allows your prayers to be much stronger.Last,of all dont put yourself in the situation where you find yourself committing that sin(lay no provisions for the flesh) and if you feel the lust for that sin coming on go to the bible or God thats the hardest one to do. In addition to the wonderful things people have already said...
Firstly, spend time with Jesus daily more than any other person. Secondly, get baptised in the Holy Spirit and empowered from on high. Thirdly, trust and believe God's promises that as a believer your "old nature" was crucified on the cross and is presently dead and inactive and powerless to stop you - also if you haven't been water baptised get water baptised and understand the meaning of it (see Romans 6). And then take whatever practical measures you can to try and avoid any situations which would put you in a compromising position, in other words if drugs is a problem, stop hanging around druggies..it's not rocket science. And lastly, realise that Jesus loves you very very much and meditate upon that and His person until that truth is ingrained into your soul. Only God's love can really replace and satifisy whatever it is you are lacking in your life that causes you to turn to sin. That comes by developing strong fellowship with God, which comes by doing the first step I gave above.

First thing would be to understand that if you have entrusted your eternal salvation with Jesus.. then you are freed from the consequence of hell for sinning.
So then everytime you fail.. there is no condemnation - only loving discipline and rebuke. So your sin would not bring ****ation, but conviction from the Holy Spirit.
Second thing then would be to pray and meditate on what Jesus has done for you.. really get it ingrained, understood. Knowing what He has done gives love back to the freedom giver- wanting to stay away from habitual sin.
I don' t recommend obsessing about the sin.. but thinking on pure things.. thinking about something else.. because hten you give no place for the devil to tempt.
