But why did Paul need to impart spiritual gifts? They already had them. But they like Phillip could not pass them on. Only an Apostle could do this.
Paul imparted his gift he was the office of Apostle. which is a gift to the body of Christ for equipping as the word of God says in 1cor 12
and Ephesians 4:11-12 says. Rom 12:6-8 tells us teaching is a gift. it is not all the Spiritual gifts only in context to the :

pneumatikos AND the charisma

THERE ARE ALSO :

katartismos = equipping gifts

Eph 4:11-12

And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ

When Paul said in Rom 1:11

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established NKJV

it was not by laying on of hands because of the context of the word " impart spiritual gift " means also

a favour with which one receives without any merit of his own
the gift of faith, knowledge, holiness, virtue

to make the firm in the faith or as it says in verse 11 established.

Philp as to which one? Philp the evangelist or the Apostle whom Jesus choose?

Philp in Acts is not the same one as Philp whom Jesus called. The one you are speaking of was more like a Deacon. Surely not able to serve in the teaching of the Word as Paul. Philp needed to be instructed.

But, scripture says only an Apostle can distribute the gifts besides the two outpourings. You haven't any scripture to prove your point.

gain th scriptures doesn't say that. You think it does. You have not provided any proof of that Biblically. that is a presupposition.

Yes I have as many other have too. We provided accounts in Acts where the laying on of hands was not done, yet you refuse to see it. Were done :).

Prove me wrong with scripture you think supports your claim. I'll show you how it does not.

"Did", not "can". Yours is an argument from silence, and I'm still waiting for an answer to my question from post #291.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Marc Strusa and I am an apostle and prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ by the will of God and not of man.
If that is indeed the case, then you should be out and about doing what God has called you to do.

As far as I'm concerned, the apostles and prophets passed away after the apostle-prophet John passed on. What they had to say is all within the Bible.

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim 3:15-17)

Pr 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

The bible is greater than just one book. The answer is available but you need to search it out. Slothfulness in study is not rewarded.

For the cause of Christ
Roger

Two kinds wisdom that come by knowledge. Two sources. Wisdom from above as it is written. And earthly inspired of the devil the philosophies of men.

No perfect law of faith to complete the circular reasoning or circuit of truth by which we can hear God.

Knowledge that comes form hearing God through the scripture has been made complete. What we had in part today looking at the last entry (Revelation amen) we have in whole the perfect

In the perfect knowledge there are no laws by which we could know our father in heaven more adequately. Why would a Christian seek after another kind of wisdom? Whats the hope?

Are you counting Cornelius and his companions as the second outpouring?

Yes the gospel is said to come by beautiful or beautified feet .Feet in that parable (Roman 10:17) as messengers of God represent the cleansing power of the gospel. Hands, another metaphor are used to represent the will in parables.

What does Cornelius and his companions as the second outpouring represent? Second outpouring of who ? Out pouring what?

You need to stop spreading falsehoods about the Bible, especially after you have been corrected. The Bible says no such thing.

Peter even told Simon of Samaria that he had no part in this ministry (laying hands on people and their receiving the Holy Spirit) because his heart was not right before God.

That is only because many have a improper understanding of the words . Words that others have added new meaning destroying the use of the word. Making it about the feet (flesh and blood) and not unseen spiritual work the gospel message that quicken ones soul and give the understanding of our unseen God ..

The first recorded apostle-prophet was Cain. Apostle-prophet bring the gospel. plant the seed water it with the doctrines of God .

Christ causes the growth if any. In the case of his brother Cain there was no growth.

Abel is also the first reordered martyr

Do you realize that my question was to Dave_L? If you did, did you read his post to which I responded? If you did, why didn't you ask him these questions, as he made the assertions?

How in the world do you come up with this?
Garee has a vivid imagination and gives it full scope in discussing Bible topics. If Cain was an apostle-prophet, then Abel must have been the one who killed Cain. Sheer nonsense.

Prove how the baptism came apart from an apostle's hands or apart from the two outpourings. Where does it say the 3000 at Pentecost received the baptism and spoke in tongues? Or anyone else for that matter? The gift of the Holy Spirit is for all according to scripture. The baptism was not according to scripture.

I would offer.

God sent Abel as a apostle in whom he had favor or grace on moving Abel as he moves us to both will and do His good pleasure. He followed the commandment and talked with His brother.

Faithless atheistic Cain who served the pagan form of religion ."Out of sight out of mind" killed Abel. Silencing the gospel of faith by which Able

In that way Abel is the first prophet sent as a apostle and was murdered for his testimony as the first martyr Many firsts with brother Abel.

nd Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. Genesis 4: 8-10

The operation of the Church is the operation of the Church, so why would it be different back then compared to now.

If they spoke in tongues back then it would apply today, and it was more than the disciples, and Paul speaking in tongues, so if the people that were not disciples, or Paul, spoke in tongues they would be able to speak in tongues today.

1Co 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Out of faith, hope, and charity, love in action, charity is the greatest, and faith and hope are not needed in heaven, but love will go on forever.

1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
1Co 13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
1Co 13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Love never fails.

I do not believe this means tongues have ceased but when the saints are in heaven that perfect is come, and in heaven all these things prophesies, tongues, knowledge of what we learned on earth will not be needed in heaven like faith and hope are not needed, but love will go on forever, for love never fails.

All that we did on earth concerning living for God will not be needed in heaven, but love will go on forever.

I believe that is what it is saying not that tongues have ceased at any point while we are on earth.

And God said He will create a new heaven and earth, and the former shall not be remembered, nor come to mind, so when the saints are at the New Jerusalem they will not remember anything prior to it, and will not remember the earth, and what happened on it, for the prior creation is associated with sin and rebellion, and God does not want them to know about that, and they will not feel sad for their loved ones, and people they cared about that were not saved.
