I feel sometimes that "religion"is killing people...
In Corinthians 3:6, the code kills, but the Spirit makes alive.

There are so many people who seek a relationship with God ,and the religious community continues to tell them
they need to "do" something else to be acceptable to Him...

Now dont get offended by my use of the word "religion" i know its been a popular, spirit sounding word used for centuries..
Im just trying to put a clear difference between a set of rules and a personal relationship with our living God.....

It is like the husband giving the wife a set of rules, and saying if you want to be my wife you have to obey these rules, If not. I will divorce you..

It is like we look to these rules, and are so focused on keeping them so we do not get into trouble, we do not have time to focus on anything else. And we wonder why we are stagnant, and not growing, all the while we see tohers, grow. and have a meaningful relationship with the one they love.

it is satans greatest triumph. holding people to law and religion.

Religion - the belief in a god or in a group of gods

Clearly this is not what Christianity is. We do not believe in A 'god' but instead we believe in THE 'God'.

As long as we read the bible as law,a separation will exist between God and us...
Even though the old covenant is now made void..
If we are legalistic, we will read legalism into everything the bible says...

you have a point there, something to be taken care of..
"And we wonder why we are stagnant, and not growing, all the while we see tohers, grow. and have a meaningful relationship with the one they love."

if we focus on that too much,we will never grow..

As mankind has been doing since they were created.

All forms of religion is based on some sort of legalistic value system.

Stand ...sit down.......kneel
were in the bible it says we have to Stand, sit and kneel, and even close our eyes when we pray? its silly, most religions, get you to do all these things, But Why? and were is the back up scriptures to say we have to do all these things just to beleive in God. thats the difference between religion and true faith.

talk about child abuse

the abuse is telling someone that God will bless them if they do such a thing, and it makes them more righteous than the other schools and other churches..

You are soo right... and abuse is not a word I take lighly...its a serious issue.....
What I meant to say ...is the humiliation they put on a child...who caused me to fear Him in the wrong way...
Telling me I had to go through all knids of obstacles to get to Him...told me I had to confess to some giant guy all in
Black....scary to a first grader...was my only way to Him....I didnt even know I was siiting in Gods hands all along...
Right there where He will always be.....sorry if I was being to brazen....
