Ok....I don't know if any of you know who Rob Bell is, but I wanted to see if anyone knows much about him.
See, we watched one of his "Nooma" videos today in chapel at the college I go to...It was titled "Noise" and I think it has a really great message behind it, and it really caught the attention of the viewers...And I have watched some of his other videos before today. He is a preacher that claims to be a Christian, and I believed that he was when I watched some of his videos. But today when I got hom I decided to watch some more of his videos and do some research, and I'm just not sure what to believe now. One of my best friends really likes Rob Bell and has told me a little about him, and also mentioned that he has been called a heretic because of some of his theological views.
So today I looked at what some of Bell's critics had to say...and some of it makes sense. But it's hard to see if they are taking little clips of what he has said out of context and twisting it (just as some people take verses from the bible out of contect and twist it to fit what they want it to say), or if he really meant things the way they say he did. (I'm sorry if my wording is confusing...I'm a bit confused myself right now, haha.)
So anyways, I just wanted to see what you guys thought about him and his teachings. If you haven't heard of him, maybe you could look him up and then tell me what you think. Please use scripture to support your ideas...and if you know of some places I could get more information about Rob Bell and the church he is associated with, please share!
