Over the years, here at Christian Chat, I have read the Bio's of various members. On the entry where it asks "When Saved" many people put in "All my life", or "when I was a baby". According to the Bible this is simply not true!! Another way to ask the same question would be to say "When did you believe?" No baby can believe for he/she does not have comprehension. No one can be 'saved all my life' for according to scripture there is a POINT IN TIME in which one believes with understanding and is so able to MAKE A CHOICE. Consider all of these verses (link below) in which the words "when" and believe(d) are in the same sentence and support that not one of them was saved or believed 'since I was born" or "all my life".
Salvation is a choice. It is a choice that a person makes after...AFTER HEARING the Gospel. In order to make a choice, one must having understanding. Babies do NOT understand any language other than than that of love prior to the age of 1 and then comprehension is minimal considering what it is that needs to be grasped before a person can make and intelligent choice.

John the Baptist leapt in Elizabeth's womb at the voice of Mary signifying something greater than Mary was approaching.
''Suffer the little ones to come to me for SUCH is the Kingdom of Heaven.
It's hard to say what a little one 'knows'.

i also say that i was Saved my whole life. True, when i was a kid, there was a day that i walked up to the front of the Church and Got Saved,But i believed in Jesus many years prior to walking up that isle. i Truly can't remember a time in my life, that i did not believe in Jesus Christ. By the time i was 12, i had read the entire Bible 3 times.
my Mom told me that she was called to be a Nun, but then she met my Dad, and she forsook her calling to be a Nun. She felt so guilty about doing that, she prayed to God that her first born son she would dedicate to the Lord, which was me. She was telling me about Jesus before i could even speak, possibly even walk. i don't know, can't remember that far back.
Anyways that is why i say "all my life" because i truly believe that i was called from birth, to be a prophet of the Most High God.

Being called of God is NOT being saved. It is a CALL that one must answer by FIRST becoming born of God/Born again.

Believing in Jesus is NOT enough to qualify one as being saved. Satan believes that Jesus is the Christ, that He is the Son of God AND that one must be born again to see the kingdom of Heaven....BUT HE IS NOT GOING TO HEAVEN. Believing is not enough. Scripture says believe AND BE saved. "Be" is a condition in which one operates: I will be; he will be; she will be; will you be??

On your website you have a link called 'Lost Books' and in that article you state...

'' This chapter is about those epistles that they discarded and chose not to put into the Bible. It also has epistles that the Church didn't find, but were found later, after the Bible was already completed. Anytime i read something, i determine if it is good or if it is bad. How i do this is: whatever i read if it is contrary to the Bible, i read no more of it, but if it talks of doing good and not bad i believe it, for the Bible says the same thing; Do good, not evil ''

Then towards the bottom of the article you quote three passages from the book of Mormon.

Question: Do you see the Book of Mormon contrary to the Bible and therefore 'read it no more', or do you 'believe it' because it 'talks of doing good and evil'?

I agree with, MM, we MUST be 'born again.' This is definitely not being saved all your life. Nice of you to bring this to light, milady. Never keep your light hidden, for a city on a hill cannot be hidden. Or, for that matter, nor should it want to be :)

So Hell is full of babies that died before they could CHOOSE??? This seems illogical to me... Please feel free to shed some light here, I am quite curious to hear your thoughts.

"Saved since birth" is an inaccurate statement because we know that babies are born in sin (Psalms 51:5, Rom 3:23) and need to be saved when they are knowledgeable of right and wrong and are capable of understanding their spiritual state and placing their faith in Jesus (John 1:12-13, Rom 10:9). However, an indication that babies won't be tormented in Hell is Luke 18:16-17 and Matt 18:3-4 where Jesus stated that one has to be converted and as humble as little ones in order to enter Heaven...
Luke 18:16-17
16- But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17- Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
Matt 18:3-4
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

This suggests that God is just and His mercy and grace covers little ones that when they die their eternal destiny is Heaven.

from TheMachine: "So Hell is full of babies that died before they could CHOOSE??? This seems illogical to me... Please feel free to shed some light here, I am quite curious to hear your thoughts." No, that would be a merciless God to do that. Somewhere in the Bible and I don't recall just were, we are told that those that perish before birth or as babies (see Job 3?)
do not experience that suffering. While every person is born with the sin of Adam, God cannot and does not 'punish' a baby when the baby has never had an opportunity to make a choice. It would be out if character for a loving God to do so.

a person may be physically alive for a time when their babies but only spiritual alive when they get old enough to understand right from wrong and old enough to make the decision weather to follow GOD or not. so in a spiritual sense they can be saved their entire spiritual life .

“Why did I not perish at birth,
and die as I came from the womb?
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Why were there knees to receive me
and breasts that I might be nursed?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]For now I would be lying down in peace;
I would be asleep and at rest
[SUP]14 [/SUP]with kings and rulers of the earth,
who built for themselves places now lying in ruins,
[SUP]15 [/SUP]with princes who had gold,
who filled their houses with silver.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Or why was I not hidden away in the ground like a stillborn child,
like an infant who never saw the light of day?

Maggie I was curious to understand your reference to this chapter?

I also have a few other questions concerning this issue.....
1) If God is all knowing does he not know who will answer His call? And if so does He "pre-know" this and therefore the person having now been saved would have always been saved to the One and only God who saves?
2) We are born in the sin of Adam, as Maggie mentioned, are we not redeemed by the sinless Christ? Although we still suffer death as the song puts it "Our Redeemer Lives"....or does he sort of redeem?
3) Is it possible that we again are conversing about that which does not matter? If you believe that you have always been saved...awesome, if you believe that were saved on this date of whatever month great, isn't the bigger picture to share the means by which you are saved as opposed to when it may or may not have happened?

[SUP]16 [/SUP]For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

[SUP]20 [/SUP]Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

This is the good news we should be sharing......

Job is saying that it would have been better for him to have died prior to birth so that he would not suffer during life. It says that it would be BETTER for him....so for a baby to die/miscarriage or for an infant to die after birth, still before the ability to comprehend, and that is BETTER than life, what does that tell you? Hell would not be better, right? And we KNOW that God is merciful and gracious. WHERE they go, scripture does not say, but only that He provides.

These 2 quotes suggest that you would be asleep or hidden in the ground....I would suspect that both of those options are better than an eternity of torment and gnashing of teeth but, I digress.

Do you have any thoughts on the questions I asked?

Thank you Maggie. As the mother of a baby who died it is always a little painful to read that some believe my precious girl is in hell. I was not saved when she died, but i was visited by a very kind and compassionate minister. In the fog of grief i remember him telling me that Sukey was in heaven, because she was not of an age when she could recognise her own sinfulness. I have heard other Christians saying there is an age of accountability. I would also add that to read that one's loved ones may be in hell is deeply distressing. Many of us are living surrounded by family members who are not saved...yet. I draw comfort and give it when asked, by saying the thief on the cross recognised Jesus for who He was, and was told in his dying moments he would join Jesus in heaven. I have spent many hours with dying patients (nursing) and even when unconscious, who knows if they are communicating and crying out to the Lord? I trust if they do, he will hear them and , like a man running out of a burning building naked...they will go home to be with Him. I know this may not be in line with some of your theology. But please, please be cautious when posting about such emotive and potentially upsetting subjects. The 'babies' you talk about so glibly, to many here are real. <><

Interesting. I have found error in about every topic you posted on your site. God is not all knowing? Wow.

Looks to me like your site is more a reflection of your own views, but you have ommited important passages on topics because they would obviously conflict with your opinion.

Like your topic on war. You mentoned many wonderful passages on love, but ommited actual passages talking about war.
What about the soldier at the foot of the cross? The bible doesn't tell us that he was told to walk away from his job.
What about the good soldiers the Hebrew writer spoke of?
What about the parable of the Kings War in the book of Luke?
What about the wars on the OT where it is evident God was on the Israelites side?

I dedicated all of them to the Lord upon losing them. And since there is no time in the spirit realm, you can still dedicate your little girl to Him, regardless of how long ago she passed. He has her in His care regardless.

I cannot speak for others, or for God or anyone other than myself really.....and I think that is where people tend to get into the "altercation" of Faith as opposed to the sharing of it. I have tried to speak for others in the past, or even God for that matter as if I have any right what so ever to do so...... "in this scripture God means this or that or this happened and God must want this or that", or my favorite is when we as people reveal that" God has exposed His truth upon us and we must use this truth to smite others in the church , in our homes or even on a chat forum"?.....really?

I say these things to let you know that this is what I have done in the past, BUT without any interpretation required, God commands us to bring the Gospel to all nations. To baptize in the name of the Father , Son and Holy Spirit and to Edify the Body!.....I believe you are part of the body regardless of your denomination of choice and thus I am to edify you , not tear you down..... so again I say who cares when anybody believes they are saved? Instead lets give praise to the Saviour and the sender of the Saviour and spread the news of them to the saved and unsaved alike. In the sake of friendly discussion I would like to hear your thoughts on the questions I asked.....but for the sake of the importance of the topic I understand if you don't want to discuss it further....God Bless.

First off God Bless you for bringing Glory to God after going through such a hard and difficult time. If one needs to go to the gym to make their physical muscles stronger I can only assume that your Spiritual muscles must be ripped having gone through such an event. My wife and I have 2 boys, and what you shared made me give them an extra squeeze today! I pray that you and your strength would be a testimony to others and that in kind you would find peace in Christ! Again God Bless.

I did not mean you were talking like that...my intention, and what i started out saying was in thanking you for posting so kindly. Unfortunately the way i wrote at the end of my post seemed to be directed personally at you, it was not, well at least I made a mistake in how I framed it, it was directed generally, not at you at all and I am deeply sorry that I distressed you! not my intention at all. A salutary lesson to me in how one can write with well-meaning to thank someone and end up insulting them! so I hope you accept my apology. A genuine mistake Maggie, I am so sorry, Not my intention at all. <><
