seem to speak of a great mob of Christians no one can number
What makes you think they just got saved rather than have just come into the literal presence of God which is what will happen when the catching away of the church (rapture) takes place?
After studying this myself and asking if others knows of any specific promises concerning mass revival right before the Lord returns... best I can tell there are NO such promises but rather lots of people praying for it. I guess it's nice to be "positive" but I'm looking for what God says about it not people's wishful thinking that helps preachers take up larger offerings.
It's actually happening somewhat in many third world countries where people have little opportunity for a "good" life here on earth... but it's not happening in western countries that have good economies cause they have other options than following the Lord (like the care of this world and lusts of other things mentioned in Mark 4:13-20).
I'm thinking there will be no further revival in western countries other than small fires here and there and individuals getting saved at a smaller rate than in the past... which reminds me of the teaching Jesus gave in Luke 14:16-24.
Many TV preachers and those that aspire to be like them teach great revival is coming that will sweep the majority of the world's population into the Kingdom of God... but it's looking like this large move is a move of the god of this world sweeping many into following a false jesus and a different gospel which will be the apostate "church" melding into the one world religion where everyone agrees that 'all major religions lead to the same god' which is a massive deception satan has planned for mankind to deceive many into thinking they are part of this great awakening but are actually following a false christ.
Luke 14:16-24
Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:
And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.
