What do you think of this scripture souls of men for sale? Who is buying them and how is the deal sealed?

Revelation 18

10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

I purchased a soul once, but it was done jokingly. However, I did make him sign a contract, perhaps I own a soul now....

Babylon, has been hijacking the souls of men through spiritual and commercial means since Nimrod. It will all end up back in the same location with the second Nimrod.

I believe it's a reference to the papal practice of buying the souls of men through indulgences etc. Making profit or money off spirituality in other words.

Correct, this practice, along with the confessional goes back to Babylon.

We don't need the confessional now, we have twitter.

I think souls of men could also have to do with the minds of men. This morning I was reminded of something I read a while back, I read many things over the years so I don't remember where I saw this.

There was this guy from hundreds of years ago and he belonged to this religion that liked to brainwash people so he would forcefully capture some Muslims and drug them and bring them to a place with beautiful women and make them eat ham and then drug them again and take them away from there and tell them "you know I have it in my power to bring you to Muslim heaven at my will, die while serving me and you will be there for sure." These Muslims fought for him in battle more violently than anyone. Once he ordered two of his Muslims to jump off a cliff and they instantly obeyed and had smiles on there faces all the way down because they believed they would be in Muslim heaven. The religion is still around and they are better at what they do than they were hundreds of years ago. I don't see it possible they don't have there hands in all kinds of organizations by today.

It reminded me of the series "Mission Impossible" where they create fake circumstances to manipulate people to disclose secrets or do things they would never do normally.

Another thought would be like those in prison who hate blacks but the real reason behind there group is to make money for the people who really run it. (many organizations with devoted followers real purpose is only for control and money and not values of the followers.) Many of these organizations call themselves Christian.

I believe it also mean that some people will give up their souls for money; like the corruption in the polices and courts, and government.
many can be bought for a price, and they will do anything; no matter what pain or trouble it will cause another. like bribery, or being paid to let a crimnal go. being involved in imoral acts for money or any form a profit.

ask yourself can you be bought to do something that wooul ;without the thought of repentance would at the end send you to hell ?
which most people will not give up " easy money "by choice. even some good harted people would turn on their mother for money or power. or both

Haha...some of the things I see on the internet...be it twitter, blogs, or facebook status updates...I think I would only be able to utter them in the privacy of my church's confessional! People have no shame any more lol.

Psuche--life. The Greeks had three words for life: bios, which is anything living; zoa, which was animate life; and psuche, which was the higher life shared by man, the gods (in their paganism) and the demigods. So, they are marketing in the lives of men, emphasis (in the Christian sense) upon the blasphemy of degrading the imago dei. The Latin concept of the soul was attached to this word and ended up in most English translations, something that I disagree with but not the worst translation.

Souls also can refur simply as the person or number of persons aboard a ship, plane or those lost to a great disaster.
As to the scripture, when I first read it I felt that it was refuring to the United States. Although that may be subject to the time in referance.
Poss. Rome at that time, or where ever the great city may be in referance to revelations.
The truth is that in sin wether it refurs to the sale of others in slavery, or selling ones soul to the world and it temptations. All will meet its demise.
In referance to real slave trade, yes it is still going on and more perverce than ever. Saddly it is not acknowladged as well as it should be.
May God Our Father comfort these children.
God bless, pickles
