I have heard of missionaries given the gift of tongues and converting whole villages to Jesus.

So I believe that God still does give the gift of tongues...but I disagree that if you don't have the gift of tongues you don't have the Holy spirit.

Only if what we desire is God's will to be done in this world and in our lives.

Otherwise if we pray for things to fulfill our lust or desires of this world, God calls us doubleminded and adulterers lusting after the world and not Him.

There is a Bible verse that says that the Holy spirit interferes for us whenever all we can do is groan. Let me find it. It is good to be equipped with God's words.

Romans 8:26 ►

New International Version
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

On the topic of spiritual warfare and the spirit realm, I could say alot, but prefer to do it privately with people I know love me and that I trust to pray, who show God's love through their patience, kindness and gentleness.

So if you are interested I can pm you my testimony.

Maybe you meant intercedes ... but interferes does have a certain ring to it ;)

Thanks Stones and yes I run to Jesus every day of my life. My help cometh from the Lord. I can do all things through Christ my Lord.

My Comforter is the Holy Spirit - my shield and defender.

Peter cites accurately Joel 2 and matches the Spirit upon all flesh which includes Gentiles and delineates it from your sons and your daughters.

All flesh is saved by the pouring out of the Holy Spirit but Israel is chosen for evidence of gifts as a witness to them of Jehovah Gods provision of their Messiah.

Hi Roger, i cant really agree with your view from Joel 2. If you read the verses before 28, you will find that before the outpouring of the Spirit will take place Israel is living in a prosper and blessed situation. A situation which we cant find in Israel till today. That Peter mentioned this in acts may be because it partly is fullfiĺled through giving the Holy Spirit to all believers in Jesus Christ. But the total fullfilling of Joel 2, 28 will be in the future.
