I am sure most of you have heard of, or seen on TV in recent years that stupid theory that Jesus was secretly married to Mary Magdalene. I never thought of this obvious proof text, to prove that wild theory was totally wrong, until I read the verse today as I was studying. The Words came alive on the page, as the perfect proof that the theory that Jesus was secretly married, is a big LIE. When I saw that program on TV suggest that, I wanted to take my shoe off and throw it at the TV. Some here know quite a bit about Jewish Marriage traditions from the time of Christ. The couple are called Bridegroom and Bride from the moment she accepts his proposal. ONE OF THE MAIN TRADITIONS, is the Bridegroom had to build a NEW DWELLING PLACE for his Bride before they could EVER GET MARRIED. It is why the Bridegroom did not know when he was getting married. That is because the FATHER of the Bridegroom is the ONLY ONE WHO COULD MAKE THE CALL THAT THE NEW DWELLING PLACE WAS FINISHED. Then and ONLY then could the Bridegroom go Call Out his Bride, to begin the seven day Wedding Ceremony IN THE NEW DWELLING PLACE HE HAD BUILT FOR HIS BRIDE. With that in mind, HERE is the PROOF that JESUS was never married, as the world loves to suggest.

Matthew 8:20 (HCSB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Jesus told him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”

How does this verse prove that he wasn't married? I mean, I know he wasn't but I don't see proof in this verse..It simply says he had no place to lay his head. For all we know, Jesus may have lived as a homeless person, wandering around. This verse could also mean that since he was the son of God, he didn't have a true place to stay because he was God in human form. This is only my opinion. :)

I will not give dignity to this post. The lie that Jesus was married and had children is preposterous and demonic.

He's giving proof against it. (Obviously we don't need proof as marriage wasn't his purpose here.)

The bridegroom needed to put a great deal of effort into making a home for the bride. This was how the ceremony was done, but Jesus never spent any time living anywhere. It's... nice proof for people who are serious about it. But I'd dismiss the idea without even thinking.

I had to look up an article from the Museum of Hoaxes for an assignment in an Informal Logic class and found this

The Gospel of Jesus’s Wife

There is a link on the page to Christian Askeland's research findings that this papyrus from which this notion comes is a forgery. Especially convincing was that portions of the script were written in bold lettering. Ha!

Its says in the scriptures that the ones that doesn't marries does better, and its also says that a servant isn't greater than its master. And so Paul was able to stayed unmarried throughout his whole life, and so if Paul was able, shouldn't his master be able to stay unmarried?

I agree Jesus did not marry on the earth, but where are these scriptures about having to make a dwelling place first? I think a better scripture is Isaiah 53:2. He was purposely unattractive so that no one would desire Him- that sounds to me like someone avoiding marriage. He knew He was going to die, so why would He create a widow and/or orphans? That's what people want to create with this lie- the possibility that someone could be a physical decedent of Christ. But Isaiah 53:8 disproves that- it was prophesied that He would have no children.

Gospel of Jesus' Wife - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

5th century part of a manuscript BUT...

However, further analysis has suggested that the text includes additional errors that suggest it is not authentic.[SUP][12][/SUP][SUP][13][/SUP][SUP][14][/SUP][SUP][15][/SUP] In particular, Christian Askeland, a Coptic specialist at Indiana Wesleyan University, has claimed the fragment is, "a match for a papyrus fragment that is clearly a forgery". He suggests the text was written by the same person, in the same ink, with the same instrument as a similar fragment of the Gospel of John, belonging to the same anonymous owner and now overwhelmingly considered a fake.[SUP][12][/SUP][SUP][15][/SUP]

Besides, we have dozens of early manuscripts that state otherwise. Don't fall for the baloney or salami.

IF HE WAS MARRIED the Wedding Traditions would have required HIM TO BUILD a New Dwelling Place for HIS BRIDE, and HE SAID He had no place to lay his head. That is an expression that means No Place to call HOME. Had He been married he would have built a HOME, before HE got married, ESPECIALLY since HE was a Carpenter.

ASK ANY JEW.

Jewish Wedding Customs and the Bride of Messiah
. . .
The Couple's Responsibilities During the BetrothalDuring betrothal the groom's responsibility was to focus on preparing a new dwelling place for his bride and family:

  • In Biblical times this was most often done not by building a new home - but by simply adding additional rooms to the family's existing home.
  • The Rabbi's determined that the place to which the bride was to be taken must be better than the place she had lived before.
  • It was not the groom's duty to determine when the place he was preparing for the bride was ready - his father would make that determination and give the go ahead to receive his bride.

I also HIGHLY Recommend that you watch the Video Series, "The Seven Feasts of Israel", especially the one on the Passover. Zola Levitt explains the Jewish Wedding Customs in that video, if I remember right. ZLM Video Series: “The Seven Feasts of Israel”

I started a thread some time ago trying to discuss that subject, but NO ONE seemed interested: http://christianchat.com/bible-disc...ng-out-bride-go-wedding-lamb.html#post1604022

Surely you did not think we had everything that ever happened to Jesus recorded in the Scriptures did you:

John 21:25 (HCSB)
[SUP]25 [/SUP] And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, I suppose not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.

THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD, TO TEACH OTHERS HOW TO PROVE BIBLICALLY THAT IT IS A LIE!
