You know, GodisSalvation started a great thread yesterday on the book of Mark. I and a few others have commented, including the OP.

Why do we have to have this sort of nonsense, when we could actually all be profitably studying the BIBLE together in the BIBLE Discussion Forum?

It seems like people would rather dwell on the foibles of those who are off track, than dwell on the Word of God, and what it teaches us about the gospel and Jesus.

I will always take a positive over a negative. And no, didn't look at the videos. I don't need that sort of thing playing over and over in my brain, when there are so many positive things to thing about.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Phil. 4:8

Though no video collection is complete, without the Leroy and Creflo money dance around the alter, a good rebuke received! Will pass on that post, then... for now.

I agree..people need to be taught by the leaders...most manifestation are of the flesh....a lot of people are spiritual babies for sure...and there are charlatans too....and people that think the gifts of the Spirit are not for today are going to think any manifestation of the Holy Spirit will be of "the devil"...like speaking in tongues....that's a gimmie...

Sometimes a lot of "manifestations" are just their flesh reacting to the Spirit on them. When we get to heaven..the Holy Spirit will not be jerking and falling down all the time...but here on this earth that is just our flesh coming into contact with the supernatural and something gives....and it will always be our flesh....selah

The bible is full of times when people fell down from contact with the Spirit of God. Is there people that over-react?..Yes..of course. Are they any worse then those that reject the power of God in manifestation?..no..just different...

Are there charlatans?..of course...

I think what is worse then condemning how someone reacted in the flesh to the Holy Spirit..is nothing compared to those that "slander" these baby christians in the Body of Christ that our Lord gave His life and shed His blood for.

I do agree that some things are stupid to do or stupid to put on youtube.
We had people in church shaking all over and they scared people away who were interested, so in our church it's not allowed and they have to act normal, even if it is the Holy Spirit. If there are people in a prayer meeting who don't speak in tongues you may not pray in tongues. They think it's foolish and it's no use like Paul said.

Jeremiah 23[SUP]

9 [/SUP]Concerning the prophets:

My heart is broken within me;
all my bones shake;
I am like a drunken man,
like a man overcome by wine,
because of the Lord
and because of his holy words.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For the land is full of adulterers;
because of the curse the land mourns,
and the pastures of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course is evil,
and their might is not right.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]“Both prophet and priest are ungodly;
even in my house I have found their evil,
declares the Lord.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore their way shall be to them
like slippery paths in the darkness,
into which they shall be driven and fall,
for I will bring disaster upon them
in the year of their punishment,
declares the Lord.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]In the prophets of Samaria
I saw an unsavory thing:
they prophesied by Baal
and led my people Israel astray.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
they commit adultery and walk in lies;
they strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
all of them have become like Sodom to me,
and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
“Behold, I will feed them with bitter food
and give them poisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

[SUP]16 [/SUP]Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. [SUP]17 [/SUP]They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, ‘It shall be well with you’; and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, ‘No disaster shall come upon you.’”

[SUP]18 [/SUP]For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord
to see and to hear his word,
or who has paid attention to his word and listened?
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Behold, the storm of the Lord!
Wrath has gone forth,
a whirling tempest;
it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]The anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he has executed and accomplished
the intents of his heart.
In the latter days you will understand it clearly.

[SUP]21 [/SUP]“I did not send the prophets,
yet they ran;
I did not speak to them,
yet they prophesied.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]But if they had stood in my council,
then they would have proclaimed my words to my people,
and they would have turned them from their evil way,
and from the evil of their deeds.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]“Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? [SUP]24 [/SUP]Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord. [SUP]25 [/SUP]I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I have dreamed, I have dreamed!’ [SUP]26 [/SUP]How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart, [SUP]27 [/SUP]who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their fathers forgot my name for Baal? [SUP]28 [/SUP]Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord. [SUP]29 [/SUP]Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? [SUP]30 [/SUP]Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who steal my words from one another. [SUP]31 [/SUP]Behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who use their tongues and declare, ‘declares the Lord.’ [SUP]32 [/SUP]Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, declares the Lord, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them. So they do not profit this people at all, declares the Lord.

[SUP]33 [/SUP]“When one of this people, or a prophet or a priest asks you, ‘What is the burden of the Lord?’ you shall say to them, ‘You are the burden,[SUP][b][/SUP] and I will cast you off, declares the Lord.’ [SUP]34 [/SUP]And as for the prophet, priest, or one of the people who says, ‘The burden of the Lord,’ I will punish that man and his household. [SUP]35 [/SUP]Thus shall you say, every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother, ‘What has the Lord answered?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’ [SUP]36 [/SUP]But ‘the burden of the Lord’ you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man's own word, and you pervert the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God. [SUP]37 [/SUP]Thus you shall say to the prophet, ‘What has the Lord answered you?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’ [SUP]38 [/SUP]But if you say, ‘The burden of the Lord,’ thus says the Lord, ‘Because you have said these words, “The burden of the Lord,” when I sent to you, saying, “You shall not say, ‘The burden of the Lord,’” [SUP]39 [/SUP]therefore, behold, I will surely lift you up and cast you away from my presence, you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers. [SUP]40 [/SUP]And I will bring upon you everlasting reproach and perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.’”

Lol I told one Jewish atheist guy that I was praying for the fire of God to fall on Holland and he got so mad. He thought I was praying for real fire.

I have said many, many times that if we cannot take God's word into ourselves, and then some time later, speak it back out in plain, ordinary, everyday words so that anyone else could understand it, then perhaps we never really understood the word in the first place.

They're used to this kind of music in church. I wonder if you even have that in America.

There is no good WOF or health, wealth and prosperity teacher/preacher. Why? The premise of their theology is not even biblical.

The Word of Faith movement grew out of the Pentecostal movement in the late 20th century. Its founder was E. W. Kenyon, who studied the metaphysical New Thought teachings of Phineas Quimby. Mind science (where "name it and claim it" originated) was combined with Pentecostalism, resulting in a peculiar mix of orthodox Christianity and mysticism. Kenneth Hagin, in turn, studied under E. W. Kenyon and made the Word of Faith movement what it is today. Although individual teachings range from completely heretical to completely ridiculous, what follows is the basic theology most Word of Faith teachers align themselves with.

and,

The Word of Faith movement is deceiving countless people, causing them to grasp after a way of life and faith that is not biblical. At its core is the same lie Satan has been telling since the Garden: “You shall be as God” (Genesis 3:5). Sadly, those who buy into the Word of Faith movement are still listening to him. Our hope is in the Lord, not in our own words, not even in our own faith (Psalm 33:20-22). Our faith comes from God in the first place (Ephesians 2:8;Hebrews 12:2) and is not something we create for ourselves. So, be wary of the Word of Faith movement and any church that aligns itself with Word of Faith teachings. [Same source as link above]
