Back when I was in the church working in Ministry we had the leaders get together one time to discuss "suicide." We were starting to deal with the questions from kids, teenagers, and young adults in the church. Questins like "do you go to hell when you commit suicide" or "why do people take their lives?" The pastor and a few elders attended the meeting and we discussed some ways to defeat this spirit. We also discussed the biblical view of wether or not a born again christian who commits suicide goes to hell or to heaven. Now I believe with my whole heart that the believer would go to heaven, but I havent found any biblical passage to back that up or disprove it.
Was wondering if anyone has dealt with suicide, or if you have indeed found spricture to back up or disprove my theory?

Also, as a leader I had one of my kids call me one night and asked me, "when a person commits suicide do they go to heaven or hell?" Because I thought the child was asking for himself I answered, "Yes if a person commits suicide they do go to hell." I figured the answer I gave, would scare him enough until I could get over to his house and really sit down with them and pray with him, try to talk it out. MY guess was right and after alot of prayer and counseling the individual really blossomed into a stronger Christian!

Suicide has always been a gray area for me as I know first hand the aftermath of a person taking there own life, what it does to the family and friends. Ive seen christians and non-christians in caskets because of suicide. So I really believe this spirit is a pandemic. I would love to hear some feed back on this!!

I have something to say. And it will not only be useless, it wont answer any of the questions above. If chuck norris has five dollars and you have five dollars, chuck norris still has more money than you.

Jesus Christ cleansed us from all our sins as Christ followers. There is only one judgment for sin and that is Hell which if we have accepted the Lord we are not going there.

please don't comitt suicide we love you and GOD loves you too. And your a life that is worthy to be saved. If I was wrong in thinking that this question was a cry for help then. Because I had someone who was very close to me comitt suicide. And they had ask a question like that right before they did it. So forgive me. But there is no answer to that question.

Just remeber that we love you.
And GOD love you too.

I sincerely believe that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Not even our mental illness. Not that I would recommend this.

Yes there is a spirit of suicide. Usually he brings his friends named, depression, self-pity, hate, and death. People who struggle with suicide don't realize that lot of their thoughts are not their thoughts but from outside influences. Once you believe a lie about yourself it opens the door for more lies to come in, until you have a misery party with the friends listed above.

Suicide is often the result of a psycho-physiological illness. If so, I would consider it to be the same as dying from any disease or ailment. Most suicides and attempted suicides are done in such a way as to give good possibility of being averted. But more important is the message of one of my favorite verses: When you go through the fire, I will be with you and when you walk through the flood you will not be overcoming, for I am with you. No matter how dark it seems, He is faithful and will see you through it.

A strong Christians knows about the Lord being there all the time. Most Christians aren't at that point. Even strong Christians fall apart when things terrible are happening to them or their family. We all fall short. Our God is love his word says so. A Christian who gets cancer isn't given that cancer from God, sickness is from the evil one. As a demon of suicide gets on a person God knows that person has been attacked by the devil. If Jesus is both of their Lord they will go to heaven. If anyone is feeling so low as to hurt themself please talk to someone. God loves you so much and doesn't want your life shortened.
