I know what you mean. I don't know what God says about it but I know a Christian girl who better not let me catch her in a swim suit. She's going to be in BIG trouble.

When God made coats of skin to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve, how much skin did He cover?

My understanding is that it was from neck to knee for both.

I think women should wear quilts in the water, we need to make sure they have enough layers so you can't make out the female form.

Do not forget to put them in a high place so babies do not sufficate themselves. Sigh, when will women stop causing such destruction?

I wear swim shorts and a swimsuit tank top...but that's mostly because I'm very self conscious. I don't see how we allow women to go to public pools wearing a bikini but we get all horrified over short skirts or a bra strap showing. Ladies in bikinies are pretty much running around in less than a bra and underwear...

I truly believe modesty is a social perception type of deal. For American's at least, a bikini wouldn't be considered modest, but a full bathing suit that covers the stomach is usually considered a modest bathing suit. The shorts and tank top style I wear would almost be considered conservative. Since God didn't really give us a rule as to what kind of clothes we can wear, but tells us we should be modest, we should consider what modesty means to our societies and try to stay in those perameters. If I saw a Christian girl in a bikini I would be very disappointed in her because she is advertising her body and causing men to stumble in their thoughts. If I saw her in a full swim suit, I would think it was better (even though it's still skin tight, shows her form, and is nothing more than underwear attached to a tank top).

Social perception is something we can use to fill in the blanks God didn't specifically give rules on.

in my oppion i think God never wants us to show off our bodies while we are still immature and when doing things like swimming you should know who you are doing it with ex husband God never wants us to show our figure or skin publicly unless and im not even sure if this in privacy.... thoughts....

God gave us beautiful bodies, He made us in His image. Showing our forms or even showing skin isn't a sin. If we are displaying ourselves in a way to make other people lust for us, or to be vain, or indecent, then God has a problem with it. I've seen women who dress modestly, show a little skin, but do it in a beautiful, mature, and artistic manner. I've seen nude models for art students who aren't naked to create lust, but to show the beauty of the human form. God created us naked, we are born naked, so I don't think nakedness is wicked. The most passionate gift God gave for married couples to experience is one where we are able to appreciate the human body.

Using nakedness or skimpy clothing to bring yourself or other people to sin is wrong. I dont' think I'm going to hell for wearing short sleeves and a skirt that doesn't go past my knees. I don't think people are going to hell because they show their ankles or leave their faces uncovered. I don't think married couples who enjoy each other's naked bodies are doing anything wrong.

Satan has corrupted every gift God gave us and twisted it to bring us away from God. Even something as beautiful as the art God made our bodies into has been corrupted into something shameful and wicked. Sex is something that has to be talked about in whispers and has been twisted into something dirty and disgusting. Most people attribute talking in tongues to being a satanist. Even the pharisee's who saw Jesus casting out demons decided it was the work of satan.

We need to examine the intent in a lot of our actions. Most of the time things and actions are not evil unto themselves, but rather the intent is evil. Are you using your bathing suit as a utilitarian garment meant to cover private areas of your body and protect your skin while swimming. Or, are you using your bathing suit as a way to make other people lust after your body, feel ashamed of their own bodies, or to make people look and admire you for your own vanity?

i dont think nude art is apopaite when i say showing skin im not talking about your hands or your face but to be cover decently not show more than that apeala to the eye or makes one look "good" whicth is aculy very comminly vain... im not saying youll be condemed for wearing a tee shirt or even a skirt but exsamen your self to make sure you are not being offensive to the Lord...

Zepplin, Leilaii, you two are awesome. :)

But seriously, swimsuits are just an outward thing. You can wear a wetsuit and have a sinful heart just as well as you can be a saint in the nude.

Most of the time it don't matter what a woman wears some men will lust after them, so men clean up your hearts and your heads. Women are beautiful and men should appreciate them not lust after them like some kind of beast. The evil one works were he can, we just shouldn't let him work.

Have you even been to a real beach recently? Get real dude. On an average beach , there's fat guys wearing speedos , guys with enough chest hair to knit a sweater, 90% of the swimmers and bathers are overweight, beer guts, over-tanned, wrinkled , cellulite, love handles etc..plus hundreds of kids with their body boards and you're lucky not to get your rammed! All the while you are watching for sharks and stingers!

There's no chance that you will be thinking sexy thoughts at the average beach here in Australia.

Women arent totally to blame here, its the society we live in forcing sex down our throats at every turn. I would love to see women respect themselves more. Leave some room for discovery and imagination ladies. Men are visual creatures and lusting is a huge hurdle. Its all about respect NOT whats popular....You want us to respect you then respect yourselves!! Im not a Dad or Married so i hold no real bias....maybe im "old fashion", regardless I personally am more turned on to a woman saves herself and body for her future spouse not parading it around for the rest of the world to see!!
