Hi IMoss
I love you too.
I was just reading how in the Catholic bible they are taught that Jesus is the waffer. Before they take commuion they bow down to the waffer.

SeekinHim,

I understand your point here, to receive communion in a state of sin is a sin. We are partaking of the body and blood of Christ and it is a Holy interaction with God. I thought here of " The wages of Sin is Death". We are taught to not partake of communion if we're not right with God however I believe because it's done in the open in front of everyone, no one wants to not do it because of fear of others judgment.

Loveschild, I don't bow to a wafer, what I do is bow in the presence of the Lord. It can be seen as an unnecessary "ritual" when done out of the real context which to me is the desire to worship and be one with our LORD.

If people do it for fear of others judgement....* shakes head* they certainly need to do some evaluating of themselves ...Fear God not man.

Dear Charm,

I agree, and yet because we fear man more than respecting GOD's desires, many are sick and dying needlessly........

We forget that the 3 Sacraments that the LORD asked us to keep are these:

1) COMMUNION

2) FOOT WASHING

3) WATER BAPTISM

But Communion has some pretty strict requirements for us ONLY because if we are going to hold others in sin, in bondage to something they did to us, then how on earth can we ask GOD to bless our lives.............HE WON'T DO IT.........PERIOD. We are supposed to be learning how to walk with HIM, AND ALLOW HIM TO CONFORM US TO HIS LIKENESS.............THAT'S THE PLAN......IT'S NOT NEGOTIABLE

And I don't bow to anyone or anything especially a little piece of bread, only My FATHER.......

If JESUS said in the Gospels, UNLESS YOU EAT MY FLESH AND DRINK MY BLOOD YOU HAVE NO LIFE IN YOU......Was this a reference to Communion?
Where did he say that? Not that I disagree, I'd just like the verse for future reference.

2) Is this "weak" you are referring to HAVING TO DO WITH FAITH.........?
Well, yes. You said that people who get diseases and die "too young" get diseases/die because they don't have enough faith/weak faith.

3) People dying too young is a direct effect of taking Communion UNWORTHILY, NOT a reference to their faith.
That's not biblical at all and I disagree completely. Communion isn't a life or death issue.

Whoever you read that from lied to you. Yeshua IS the bread, he said so himself. "This is my body". But they don't bow down to the bread.

Dear Nuhen,

I never made reference to not having faith, as tied to sickness or disease in the Communion teaching.............weak is a reference as written by the penman, Paul, because the people were exhausted all of the time, they were always sick, and many died prematurely because they were taking Communion and not forgiving one another...........

Go back and read it again, and see if there is any reference to faith and weakness of faith, there isn't one........I think you may have mis-interpreted it.

Precious Saints,

Now this will indeed open our eyes to some of the "hidden reasons why we are sick"

NOT DISCERNING THE LORD'S BODY......1 CORINTHIANS 11:27-31 PLEASE READ IT ALL......

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this BREAD and drink this CUP of the LORD unworthily, shall be guilty of the BODY and BLOOD of the LORD..... BUT LET A MAN EXAMINE HIMSELF (internal search for sin that is not repented of, including unforgiveness) and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup.

FOR HE THAT EATETH AND DRINKETH UNWORTHILY,* EATETH AND DRINKETH ****ATION TO HIMSELF, NOT DISCERNING THE LORDS BODY. FOR THIS CAUSE MANY ARE WEAK AND SICKLY AMONG YOU, AND MANY SLEEP.... FOR IF WE WOULD JUDGE OURSELVES, WE SHOULD NOT BE JUDGED.....

Ok, let's take a closer look at some of this..........First of all that word UNWORTHILY WITH THE ASTERISK NEXT TO IT, DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE NOT ACCEPTED IN CHRIST.............FOR INDEED
If you have accepted JESUS CHRIST as Savior and LORD ACCORDING TO ACTS 2:38 AND YOU HAVE TRULY MEANT IT IN YOUR HEART............Then you are saved.

This word is indicating there is unrepented sin in our lives.............Maybe you are holding your husband guilty for whatever, or your wife, or your kids, your Mother.............It could be a bunch of different things.........NO MATTER WHAT IT IS, EVEN ANGER AT GOD..........YOU MUST REPENT SINCERELY FIRST, OR NOT TAKE COMMUNION........BEWARE! If you do take it you are guilty of
the SINS, that CHRIST ALREADY FORGAVE MEN FOR..........Now remember something here.....

JESUS CHRIST already died and payed the price for your sin and the one you might be holding guilt against........This will not work in COMMUNION, IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO GET SICK AND DIE EARLY...

This is what is meant when in that verse it says AND MANY SLEEP...........This is not a reference to going to bed, or falling asleep in Church........lol........It is a reference to DYING YOUNGER THAN YOU SHOULD.......

So, the next time you go to the COMMUNION service at your Church, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL ISSUES CLEAR BEFORE YOU TAKE COMMUNION..............

When you are free of unforgiveness, blatant unrepented sin, and you take COMMUNION, IT ACTUALLY REBUILDS YOUR BODY THROUGH THE MIRACLE OF HEALING YOUR TISSUES, AND ORGANS....
There is a ton more about this teaching and the physiological effects of this are not fully known yet.....
However, IT IS CLEAR THERE IN THIS SCRIPTURE WHY MANY OF US ARE SICK AND DYING OF VARIOUS DISEASES WHEN QUITE HONESTLY, WE DON'T NEED TO.........

MORE TO FOLLOW.....

I agree...communion taken as the Lord instructed brings healing to the body.

Fist, to nuhen's post, I Corinthians does link sickness and death to taking the Lord's supper in an unworthy manner. I want to point out that unworthily is an adverb, meaning it is the attitude with which you take the Lord's Supper that matters. It is not the sin that brings judgement but the arrogant attitude in aproaching the Lord's Supper that does.

In 20 years of going to church I've never known anyone die, young or old from taking communion. That raises a few reasons, a) what we take as communion in church today, isn't really communion. , or b), God isn't that cruel anymore, He won't kill you, He loves you :) , or c) it was a specific case for a specific time to set a specific example to the church and us, sort of like how annais who lied to the Spirit dropped dead on the spot, and great fear came on them all. But, it's an exception not the rule.

Also, there is a misunderstanding on what the actual issue was. The issue in Paul's time was not having sin in your life, but gorging oneself on the bread and wine so as to get drunk, treating it as a common thing. So the issue is not how much sin is in your life the issue is how you treat the communion elements themselves. Eating too much bread and getting drunk is technically impossible in most church services which measure out a smidgen of bread/wafer or wine/juice for everyone to take. It is for this very reason that in church they don't freely hand everyone the cup of wine but retain tight control over it, in the churches that serve wine that is. So in summary, eating and drinking unworthily is not about you being free from sin, that you are too unworthy to partake of Christ's body and blood (that goes against the grain of what taking communion is all about!) , but eating and drinking unworthily in the sense that you treat it like it's your main meal of the day and get drunk and stuff your face with it.

I'm with Nuhen on this one.
While this may not always be true, it can be possible. Who can say why one dies young. We will know when we see Him, when He reveals everything that is hidden.

Exactly. The arrogant attitude that leads to misuse of the bread and wine. Treating a holy service as a cheap thing.

Surley he issue, was one of Not discearning the Lords, body & blood, not of our personal unworthiness
in those days the communion was more open, and people were treating it as a meal, and a drink, They forgot it was the
body & blood of Christ, andcame under judgement. Let us not forget, no one has said this reading these posts,
Jesus blood was shed for the payment & forgiveness of sins, our sns.
His body was broken, for our healing. Isaiah 53
when we take his body & blood respecting & believing this, we are cleansed, healed, & forgiven
The sin people commit when taking communion, is Not Discearning the Lords Body,
The blood of Jesus is our attonement & covering and propitiation for our sins
It would be silly to repent of any sin, but then not discearn the Lords body,
That it was broken for our sins, took the wrath for our sins.
Or that his blood was shed for us, and has the power to cleanse us, remove,
our sins. and make us righteous in his sight.
We eat & drink communion in honour and rememberance of this.
The communion is symbolic of Isaiah 53.

"For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until He comes. Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the bolld of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he does not judge the body rightly. For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. But if we judged ourselves rightly, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord in order that we may not be condemned along with the world."

Dear Angel,

Wow that has a nice ring to it don't you think......By the way I love your kitty in the picture.......precious. I want you do go on journey with me through
certain Scriptures, now as you go please keep this in mind.........JESUS DIED, SPIRIT, SOUL, AND BODY, and remember HE went into hell to take the keys of death and hades away from Satan......

It took all 3 parts of HIM to cover the penalty of our sins, as we will see in a bit.........First, a question for you on this..........What part of you is not redeemed yet ? The answer is of course your body.........You see, when we either die, or are "caught up to meet the LORD in the air" our bodies will be transformed immediately into our Glorified bodies..........Now, please remember a very important Scripture in this journey.........

It's in COLOSSIANS CH. 1 VERSE 22 Which says: ....yet HE has now reconciled you in HIS FLESHLY BODY THROUGH DEATH, IN ORDER TO PRESENT YOU BEFORE HIM, HOLY AND BLAMELESS AND BEYOND REPROACH.........RECONCILED THROUGH HIS BODY, NOT THE BLOOD........

And there is another reference to this ......That the BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DONE AWAY WITH.............ROMANS 6:6

You mentioned the reference to Isaiah 53 about HIS BODY BEING BROKEN FOR OUR HEALING, When in actuality it says, HE WAS SCOURGED FOR OUR HEALING Which is in Isaiah 53 verse 6 HIS BODY WAS BROKEN TO BREAK THE POWER OF SIN WITHIN the earthen vessels that we are, so in other words, HIS body was broken to break the lineage curse on mankind because of the fall........This is why we are called New Creatures in CHRIST.......

Angel- amen. If God wants to kill someone for unrepentant sin in their life He doesn't need to wait until they go to the communion.
