Well there you go, you said it 'Snail, so you pray for your baby murdering anti-christ, but on judgement day I won't be supporting you.
Doesn't matter, you'd be outnumbered by the million or billion or so Christians who disagree with you.

the context of what he is saying should be obvious it is to unsaved unbelievers:

4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth
What are you on about???

Everyone was saved, that was at sermon on the mount.....

I was not referring to the sermoon the mt but to 1 Timothy 2. Surely you can see that it is in context, about unsaved rulers, who God wants to be saved and come to the truth. That includes Jo bama and whoever else.

Good.....

It's a narrow path....
Not as narrow as you make it lol.

What?

Are we talking Sermon on the Mount?

What?

It appears that you are of miss-understanding????

Are you having trouble with what Jesus meant?

He is talking to His people...
Yeah and he's telling HIS people to pray for unbelievers!

43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[h] and hate your enemy.' 44But I tell you: Love your enemies[i] and pray for those who persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

It says in vs 45, God causes his sun to rise on the evil and good. He causes his rain to fall on the righteous and unrighteous. Then in vs 48 it says be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect.

The clear and obvious point that JESUS is trying to get across here is that the father does some good to the righteous and unrighteous and we are to follow that example. Part of following that example is praying for our enemies. How could a believer be considered an enemy? How could a believer be considered a persecutor?

I think Americans call Obama the anti-christ due to culture-shock because of having a president who is intelligent, black, good looking, can speak the english language well, and generally knows what he's talking about.
No, MS, it's because:

1. he holds a lot of views that are directly contrary to the Bible - allowing abortion is the first one that comes to mind.

2. a good portion of Americans seem to idolize him blindly, in a way that is kind of scary.....like he can do no wrong.

I personally don't think Obama is "the anti-christ", but the allegiance he has received from many in the US is kind of alarming and has the potential for great abuse.

Also, it doesn't seem too far-fetched to imagine Obama being the vehicle for peace all over the world or one-world unity.....just as the antichrist is supposed to do. I mean, he seems to be idealized throughout the entire world, so who would be more suited to bring about world peace?

I started reading this thread because, I thought it to be a discussion on the ten commandments. I know many are calling Obama the antichrist. Only God knows if that is so or not. Though, I pray for all to be saved and that the will of God be done. Try to love everyone in spite of what they do (hard one to learn). Reach out to help spread Gods word. I also do not vote. Nor, do I care to be a part of a political system that, (in my opinion), is against God. I prefer to "let go and let God", as I'm sure God is much better able to deal with them.

As for Obama... Let cesar have what is his.

By the way, the antiChrist is going to arise from within the church. Not from some weird national government entity. At least in my humble opinion...:D

What proportion do you think idolise Obama as compared to the portion who idolised Pres. Bush during his more popular years? I'm not sure, I like Obama, as much as an Aussie can like an American president heheheh.

True! I think we've been there, done that.

Actually it's a bit more complicated than the last president pressuring, our PM wanted to go to Iraq!
The 9/11 attack happened while he was in washington for talks and he was deeply impacted by the event personally and the president shipped him back to australia on airforce 2 soon after and was the first plane to fly after the attacks.
Since then he was lap dog to the US president and they were best of buddies.
The truth is our prime minister played a part in encouraging president Bush to go to Iraq with prior committment of troops etc and support of the idea.
So it's not like Bush pressured or convinced a reluctant prime minister to go to Iraq. But our PM had as much blame!

It is very discouraging to see fellow Christian Americans calling our leader, who God has appointed, the anti-christ.

As Christians, are we not supposed to encourage each other in our daily walks? Shouldn't we set our minds on things that are good and edifying? Then why such discouraging topics?

This is not even a Bible Discussion topic and should have been removed from this thread.

Ok yes, I don't agree with everything he says and does, but I believe that we should still respect and pray for a president. Roman 13:1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.
So no matter what Obama does, even if he claims to be Christian and doesn't act like it, he is going to have to answer to God someday. But its our responsibility as Christians to respect him.

Doesn't the Anti-Christ arise from Rome?
