Exodus 12:12-13
“For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.”
“And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.”

The angels of God went through the land of Egypt and smote all the first born as God had commanded them. As they went door to door they did not spare the good and kind people. The angels were not concerned about how truthful a person was or how diligently they served God, whether a person is worthy or unworthy in some way. The only thing that mattered was the blood of the lamb on the upper, lower and the two side posts of the door. When there was blood, the angels passed over and that house was safe. However, when there was no blood, the angels went into that house and killed the first born with the sword with no mercy. People generally think that if they live as good people, help others or do many good works, God will be pleased with them. If that was the truth, then everybody would go to heaven. Because who in the world does not think that they are a good person? Satan deceives us into thinking that it is about our actions and about being good to be accepted by God. That is not what the Bible is telling us. The only thing that was going to saved a house from destruction in Exodus chapter 12 was the blood. The blood of the lamb represents the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus that has paid the price for all of our sins.

‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭6:10-11‬
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

Yes, we all have sinned. Therefore, God will not allow us inherit his kingdom. Then in verse 11 it says, "BUT we were washed, BUT we were sanctified, BUT we were justified!" How? In the name of? Yes, that is right, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior and by the spirit of our God, the one who created the heavens and the earth, and all that exist in it. Those who believe that through the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross washed away all of their sins will not be destroyed but have everlasting life. The Word of God is so amazing, full of grace and truth. God wants us to believe in his Words and that is it everyone. God is not asking us to make some great sacrifice for him or do something great for him. God wants to bestow his mercy and his grace upon us and that is why He wants us to believe in him, for our well being and our benefit. This is the heart that God has towards each and every single one of us who chooses to believe in him. For us to believe in God, we must put aside our thoughts and accept his Words into our hearts just as it is written. If we can do that, the amazing works of God will start to take place in our lives.

Romans 3:21-31 KJV
21But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
