I am a prayer warrior and for ten years God has taught me about how to fight the enemy, with the power of his word and the name of Jesus christ. but some christians don't believe that Satan or his devils are real nor do they have influence over humans.
Do you believe what the Bible say about devils.... when Jesus said in Mark 16:17 These signs shall follow those who believe, they shall cast out devils in my name..... and each of them have a name for what they cause promblems in. A spirit of....... you fill in the blank if you have or known of someone who have/had a demonic spirit and what spirit was it...

We truly need members in the body of Christ that truly do that and not a side show like you see some of these deliverance ministries that you see on television (lying signs and wonders) There are deliverance ministries that are really away from the truth of the word of God and teach that believers can have demons. These deliverance ministries are way off the truth and people flock to them because of the "sensationalism" because of the boredom in their relationship with Christ because they are shallow and not deep into the word of God. Jesus broke every curse upon the cross by his blood. A person that is supposed to be a believer that has demons cast out of them it probably due to the fact that they did not repent and were not genuinely saved. If you repent and you are baptised in HIS name you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. People can receive religeous spirits that are counterfeit. These are they that have to have and heap up unto their selves teachers that have itching ears and be tickled. They walk by feelings instead of by faith.

just a litle humor on this thread I know the evil world is something we need to take serious, so I am sorry But I could think of a better name than Cookie, for someone that would fight demons for the righteous. :D

Hey Thad, cookies are powerful things. I've seen tears shed over cookies, I've seen friendships end over cookies, I've seen relationships start over cookies, I've seen men pummel themselves senseless over cookies. The power of cookies is tremendous!!! ;)

My came is Cassandra, but before I receive the name Cassandra three months after I was born, I was being called cookie, God is no respect of person it is my heart he sees not a Name , for I am called by his name no matter what this world call me.

I too dont think that a christians can be possed by a demon, but they can be tormented, sick (desases ) and afflicted my satan/demons. As we see in Job it was not God that attacted him it was satan, as we also see with King saul it was God who sent an evil spirit to him, and in the new testament when a spirit of imfirmaty was sent to buffet Apostle Paul he went to God three times that it would live him and God said that his Grace is sufficent for him. Although we are christian most are not yet filled with the Holy Spirit, for the Bible say He shall be WITH you, He shall be IN you, does you take a new patch to fill and old garment, or do you fill an old wine bottle( old way of thinking and living which is according to the god of this world: with new wine which is the Holy Spirit; The Bible says no you will destroy it,we must use a new bottle ( new way of thinking ) for new wine.
the Holy Spirit will not enter a person until they have renewed their minds or it will be too much confusion for that person, Jesus said we will desire the old first, till we have grown to know God, the must desire the sincere milk for they are babes in Christ.
deliverance ministries are to bring down and destroy the strongholds that satan has planted in the mind. We see that no one got deliverance from possesion or bondage from the enemy after salvation it came first. but not in this day and time: We get saved first, how many people have been saved in the streets of the United States? they come to church they go up for repentence have of the time it takes months or years before they are baptized. that is why we must renew our minds by the readind of the word. for how can one enter into a strongman's house and spoil his goods lest you bind him first..and we he is gone out from a man he go into dry places.. but when he returns and sees "HIS" house been swept and garnished he goes and get seven nore stronger than he and the state of that man is worst off then before. receiving Christ is not where it stops to keep demons away: to keep them out. tho we walk in the flesh, our war is not against the flesh, but the weapons of our warfare are not carnel but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, and powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places, we cant say this man for it says " spiritual wickedness " our weapons are spiritual, our armor is spiritual, and our help is spiritual, the Sword of the Spirit; which is the Word of God. it is not for the unsaved only but more for us who are saved. some come in and still bring them devils with them that is why they have no growth until they are delivered from the evil that's within. The hole Spirit does not dwell in noone who don't have no word of God in them: light and darkness have no fellowship with one another. He is with and as the word says he shall be in them.

Well yes my wife's name is Krystle, but her family name is also cookie, and yes God see our heart not our name :)

Indeed, the idea of a devil that is vying for the souls of mankind entails that there exists a power struggle between said devil and God.

If God is an all powerful being, there should be no such power struggle. In effect making the devil naught but a pawn in God's game of chess.

I mean there are heaps and heaps of verses we can use to *prove* Satan's existence and that he is an enemy of God and us.

the majority of believers problems are the "flesh" and not demonic. I am not putting down your enthusiasm mind you. I was in a deliverance church for over a year to learn from God and I did not know at first why he choose to put me there. That church even brought people under the law of eating particular foods etc. Also, the power to bind and loose is misused and mistaught. What was going on was that anybody that was in a place of leadership had to go through a deliverance before they could even minister. I thought that very odd until I discerned why. If anybody posed a threat to the leadership in questioning his teachings, he would bring up the past of the sins that they confessed to him during he deliverance and used it like blackmail. Also, when a man questioned why the poor of us had to clean the church but the rich did not have to, he would say, "remember brother so and so, remember that rebellious spirit we cast out of you, maybe you need a brush up deliverance". Anyhow, when I seen the bullying going on, I wrote the pastor a very nice letter of my concern for what he was doing to the sheep and that was when I got kicked out. I was so happy!! I did not want to stay their anyhow. When the people asked him why I was kicked out and he didn't have a good answer, it caused a big split in the church and he lost his slaves. (the poor who were doing all the work)
What I am warning you of here is that during these deliverances, if the people doing the deliverance ask you in detail to tell you about the sexual sin you have been involved in, they are totally out of the will of God. The bibles says that it is a shame to even speak of those things done in secret.
These deliverance ministries where they go into detail on sexual sins is aform of their enjoying a type of perversion and x rated entertainment.
I am not not all of these ministries do this, but, if they are doing this, ask God to give you discernment over it. I just cannot stand the sheep being abused that way and women being used in deliverances to unveil all their sexual history to the pastor for his entertainment.
Also, deliverance ministries are most of the time "entertaining spirits". When they pray I noticed that they address the demons of the east and west and north and south. That is praying to satan and we don't have to go to satan for permission to speak to God. They give demons way more power than God. There will be some members who stroke the ego of the deliverance minister also by putting on an act and flopping all over the place and put on a big act. It is very grieving to the spirit of God that this is being used as a form of entertainment.

The devil is very much real, I know this from personal experience.

I have had demons manifest many times while ministering on the streets.

What bothers me the most about many churches now a days, is that they give the devil more power than God!

Churches are full of people looking for demons out of fear, and mistrust!

Greater is He who lives in me than he who lives in this world,

Jesus holds all things together, nothing exists that He did not make.

The devil actually helps us grow, in faith, so he actually defeats himself as he comes against us!

No weapon formed against me shall prosper!

If we stay in love, and keep our eyes on Jesus, there is no law the devil could use against us!

The word says that sin takes advantage of the law and if we keep in the Spirit(LOVE) there is no law, and the devil has lost his hold on us, death is swallowed up in victory!

You really want to make the devil mad,
Thank him for his help in making your faith grow !

If devil would of known that killing Jesus would help God's plan he would of never done it.

I would not have the faith I do without being put through the fire!
