Will we be known as men and women in the Coming Kingdom?

Will I remember my father as my father and my mother as my mother?

Pretty sure the little bird in the children's book "Are You My Mother?" is going to have greater difficulty finding his mom.

Scripture says you will be known even as you are known. So yes you will know and recognize all your loved ones.

From the Word I understand we shall all be just like Jesus Yeshua. We will not be He, but just as He.
We do not know what this is like yet, but we will. We will. Praise God, amen

I think it's 1 John 3 :2 or 1 Corinthians 13:12

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

I think we will, the rich man knew Lazarus, they saw Moses and Elijah, just no difference in status as Galatians 3:28 suggests

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

Job 19:26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

You got to it before I did (y)
I have heard this phrase also, but what verse is it referring to? Is it one of the following verses that @Mofastus suggested?

I'm just not sure that 1 Corinthians 13:12 is saying the same thing. It seems to imply that things will be different in some way?

Is there another verse that states "you will be known even as you are known"?

It's an interesting question, I found this and thought it was interesting...

When Paul writes to believers who grieve the loss of a loved one, he offers them this comfort: “We who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17, )

“Them” refers to believing loved ones who are now in the presence of the Lord. A wife who grieves the loss of her believing husband has the comfort of knowing that when the Lord comes, she will meet her husband again. Sons and daughters who grieve the loss of a believing father or mother can find comfort in the prospect of this happy reunion when we will be reunited with those who have gone before us into the presence of the Lord.

Just a thought for you

Some of our family isn’t going to believe the gospel for instance over the years I have had relatives that don’t believe and never repented and believed

so a very harsh eventuality is if I believe the gospel is this

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I can’t imagine if I’m blessed enough to dwell in the new creation with God our father for eternity , I’m going to remember those who I love and didn’t get saved because they refused the offer of salvation

It would ruin eternity if I remembered the evil in this world and the sorrow would be great in my heart thinking of those who I miss and still pray for.

i believe we’re going to remember those who are pet of the new creation my daddy for instance a true godly man lived exactly what he preached to others always stood firm in his faith in tbe lord

aim expecting to see him again and spend eternity with him same with my mama , my little cousin who I love and always was close with , he is a staunch atheist when he grew up and became a physicist. I pray for mercy for him but he’s not willing to even acknowledge God exists.

I’m hoping against Hope really , but not expecting him to be in Gods kingdom unless somehow he’s able to believe genuinely at some point

if I were to make it and he didn’t I don’t think I would remember him , but I’m expecting to know my parents and for they to know me

hes is the God of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob ( a family line ) and it appears that we are born into that family , our believing relatives , but non believers I’m not thinking we’re going to remember them

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭65:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I believe the believers are one family but also

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:34-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Faith is also a divider between a believer and non believer seperating them

a we’re going to know the ones who live and the others won’t be remembered that’s only my own opinion because there would be much sorrow for those who were lost if we remembered and it’s said hat there will be no more sorrow and tears

Do you think Jesus will retain the nail prints in His hands and feet?

wow I don’t think I’ve ever even considered this brother ( which is one of the things I love about this forum , it makes you think of things you haven’t if your a believer and listen )

“Do you think Jesus will retain the nail prints in His hands and feet?”( and side )

“Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭20:27-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven,

and in the earth!”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭113:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭4:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5:6, 9-10‬ ‭

i truly believe the message of the gospel is eternal and his death and suffering for us is part of the gospel and also the source of his glory on the throne and exaltation. From earth to heaven

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭

I’d say we will recognize his wounds somehow that he was crucified and bled dry for the price of our redemption and it’s going to be the reason that changed our hearts for God

“And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.”
‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭13:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s part of Jesus identity in heaven it seems as well as on earth and the sign of his atonement for gods children

thank you very much brother for that prayer request for James.

Please say a prayer for salvation of my nephew and nieces: Brendan, Audrey, and Andrea. They are growing up in a dark world full of distractions, deceit and the allurement of the strange and mysterious.

When He walked to Emmaus with the disciples, you'd think they would have noticed wounds in His hands and feet, and a gash in His side. But they didn't until He was revealed to them.

Amen he is the God who gives sight to the blind

“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:45-48‬ ‭

the understanding of what God has done for us how much he loves us is found in his great suffering and wounds endured on our behalf even serving as an example of how we’re meant to live life loving others

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us:

and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I believe 1 JOHN 3:2 is the correct one. also i found;
Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Blessings to you Oyster.
