Who is studying the Hebrew names of Jesus (Yeshua) and YaHuWaH (LORD)??? DO you believe that there is a difference in the power of God's name if one uses the Hebrew or the Greek translation of His name???

Gods power Is not in a language.

That said:

From what i gather. Jesus, is the english translation, of the Greek way to say Yehushua.

Iesous, is the Greek.

Iesus, is the Latin

Joshua, would be the direct english from the Original Hebrew.

Yehu(o)shuah, would be the Hebrew.

Y'shua, would be Aramaic

Yahshua, is a "modern" Hebrew apoach.

If everyone knew Him only as Yeshua, there would have been no need to write His Name in its other transliterated forms of Greek and Latin on the sign above Him.

John 19:
19 And Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20 Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.

If you want to know his TRUE name.

Revelation 19:13
"He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God."

Also, another name for Jesus, is this:

"WONDERFUL. "

"And Manoah arose and went after his wife and came to the man and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to this woman?” And he said, “I am.” "Judges 13:11

And the angel of the Lord said to him, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?” Judges 13:18

And Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, for we have seen God.” Judges 13:22

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Jesus' name IS in fact WONDERFUL! hahah Thats fantastic! Jesus bless you.

I had a horrible dream once that felt like some sort of spiritual attack. I shouted the name of Jesus IN MY DREAM and broke free from it, woke up and thanked the Lord. To me He is "Jesus" and that's good enough for me.

As for the original post, I do believe that in the OT days the names given to people (like from Adam onwards) had specific meanings towards future events. For instance Methusalah's name meant "His death shall bring" :D which is interesting because when he died, the flood came. :) I'm sure when he got the sniffles as a child the town folk panicked... lol

Y'shua Hamashiach is the original name for Jesus. In the KJV there is Iesus, but later J's were invented and then Jesus appeared as the Lord's name.

As long it is the Lord's name by the power of God in any language it still has a effect
