for this statement Jesus is condemned, needing no further witnesses Just for this statement alone. what does it Mean?

Mark 14 " 61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. ( daniel 7:13-14) 63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? 64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. "

what was He actually saying?

psalm 132 " The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. 12If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore."

acts 1:9 " And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.....

daniel 7 " I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. ( acts 2:29-36, revelation 5)

14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed."

Luke 1 " And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: ( romans 1:1-5 ) 33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

34Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."

john 3 " He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. 32And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. 33He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

34For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. 36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

matthew 11 " At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.

27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

john 18 "
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. 37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.acts 2 " Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ."

colossians 1 "We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, ......
9
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; 12Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:"

its all about the Kingdom of God, Jesus brought it forth to offer eternal Life to the world, the promise was always being given and repeated and expanded, then Jesus came forth preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, then He sent His apostles out to the world, to teach them the Kingdom of God, paul included. Jesus is On His throne at Gods right Hand, the throne promised to davids descendant that would include not only jews but all people from all nations of the earth. the Kingdom of God is Heaven and earth, the restoration the new Heaven and new earth, its offered Now, and provides eternal Life through Jesus Christ the King.

God Bless you !!

what was He actually saying?

this:

Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.
Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

(Ezekiel 1:1-4)

... ((editing quotation for brevity)) ...

And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
(Ezekiel 1:26-28)

what is blasphemy?

define it

once we have a definition sorted out,
we need to consider this:

in Luke 23:39, we read that one of the two crucified beside Jesus said "
if you are the Christ, save yourself and also us" -- many English translations say he 'jeered' or 'railed against' or 'mocked' or 'sneered' --- but the word is literally "blasphemed"
((not even trusty ol' KJ gets this right. why not?))

two thieves, one saved, one lost. the lost one blasphemed Christ
the saved one rebuked the other, saying fear God! we deserve death, but Jesus is innocent!

what does it mean that Christ can be "
blasphemed" ?

this word still got the same definition?

When Jesus replied to the High Priest he told him two things he would see. He said he would see him at the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven. Many think he was talking about the second coming but this would require the High Priest to remain alive to this day. So when could he have seen him coming in clouds? The answer as I understand it was in AD 70. Clouds often represent God coming in Judgement and the Israel was certainly judged within the High Priests generation. The High Priest understood this and realized Jesus was identifying himself as God that's why he accused him of Blasphemy.

Hello Tanakh,

This needs a little deeper thought. First, Jesus was talking about the second coming and two, Jesus was referring to the High Priest seeing him from Hades. This is supported by Rev.1:7, which says:

"
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him—even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. So shall it be! Amen."

I believe that when Christ returns to the earth, God will make it possible for those in Hades, to see the One whom they pierced. Remember, all things are possible with God. If God can roll the sky back like a scroll so that the inhabitants of the earth can see Him sitting on His throne, then I don't see a problem with God making it possible for those in Sheol/Hades to see the Lord when He returns to the earth to end the age.

But that is just reading your idea into the text to make it fit what you believe. I think that's a fallacious teaching, and not what the text says.

this word still got the same definition?

Honestly you lost me, what is the point and Hopw does ezekeils vision somehow equate to blaspheme? ezekiel is seeing the same type of things John, daniel, zechariah, Isaiah ect....all saw theres nothing in the Bible thats blasphemous im not following you man.

Christ can be blasphemed? umm i think all that pops into My Head, which i still dont understand what your gettn at lol but im thinkin this maybe

matthew 12 "And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come"

i think alot of people dont grasp that "The Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are One." when the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, He became the Son of God, and then those who Believe in the Son of God.....are Baptized in the "Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost"

Each aspect Having thier role. God the Father, Jesus the Christ Our Lord and also our mediator, the One who took part in mans state of flesh and blood that Has to die, in order to free us and purchase us for God from sin and death. the Son is the Messiah, the King of promise. The High Priest the One mediator , the testator, He is the Only way for man to relate to or understand God, God Had a perfect Son to manifest who He is to us because we had forgotten as a species who He was.

ezekeil is a great book i just dont follow the question.

it was thier intention the priests, elders, scribes and pharisees, sadducees everyone who trusted in the Law of Moses, and because of the Law, they were the authority over the people...but when the Messiah Came , He would rule. its a dastardly trial really Jesus had no change of being let Go they hated Him from the Moment He claimed to be the messiah in Luke 4 they already tried to kill Him, it was thier intention several times through the gospels. finally the trial here and the One statement that He had been speaking of but not really saying straigh forward " are you the Christ? the Son of the Blessed?"...I am, and you will see the Son of man seated at the right Hand of God coming in the clouds of Heaven."

those who were set to Kill Him, didnt even realize they were sacrificing the passover that would end the Laws wrath and dominion and make the covenant of the Gospel to all people who would believe and repent and follow Jesus the Lord trusting in Him in Who He is and what He promises. we can every single one of us Know exactly what Jesus promises, by simple as you apparently do search the Gospel.

mark 14 " And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes. 54And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. 55And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

56For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together. 57And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, 58We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. 59But neither so did their witness agree together.

60And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? 62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? 64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

65And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

they may already have seen Him and Knelt, or they might not be in hell.....:) the thief on the cross was told " today, you will be with Me in paradise"

Paul says id rather depart the flesh and Be with Jesus by far, but i Know i must remain to do the work...to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" Jesus taught that He is the resurrection and the Life, that those who believe and follow will not die...because they are born of the spirit and the spirit of course " returns to God who gave it......

Our spirit if it is so that we receive the New spirit of God promised By Jesus, the new birth the new creation ...then we arent those who will sleep in the earth, Moses and elijah were both present with Jesus on the Mountain, many were resurrected from the dead like lazurus.......tabitha....i really think there is a difference for those who lived in the law of moses reign and then the Gospel, the new covenant. they were taight then that even being good they would go to rest in the grave with thier fathers until the time in a far distance when they would rise.

that doctrine was from very early on really its subtle at first but when you get to Isaiah then He begins to make it more clear building on thins already said of the resurrection...then the prophets,,,,but then when the Messiah comes, hes offering " eternal Life...He is telling people if you keep my word you will never see death, he tells a guy " today you will be with me in paradise" he says " I am the resurrection and the Life" and He proves it not only raising people from the dead, but then He himself raises up from death.

I believe the day I die on earth, i will see Jesus...who really you and I also peirced and every sinner had peirced Him.....Because Had we not sinned He would not Have been peirced its personal in my belief I required that Jesus suffer in order for me, to be offered Life intsead of the death we all face in mortality. Life came with Jesus, after death had come from adam and then sinners v the holy Law produced a death sentance upon us all. But Jesus is the resurrection from the death man earned through sin.

Ill be glad to part my Body because i firmly expect that then I will Know what it really is to be alive :)

Jesus is the High priest.

the High priest in the jewish culture is the King when Jews rule themselves, there is no Higher authority under God ( before the law) than the High priest. Jesus though is the Priest, the sacrrifice, Our Teacher, Our mediator, Our shepherd who Loves us so that He would die, He is everything to us the whole Kingdom Jesus copvers all of it. the law of sacrifice " he is the spotless lamb" he is the priest who made this offer of Himself, He is the One who mediated and reconciled us to God, Mostly Jesus seems to desire that we do the things He said to do...So that He can call us friends, brothers, sisters, family.

and bring to God children who Love Him the way Jesus did. the way He teaches us to. the priest before there was Law especially Jesus priethood order Means "King of peace and righteousness". Jesus fulfills alot for us, definately not Just a sacrificial Lamb, and Not Just the High Priest. reall;y He is Our salvation, our forgiveness, Our repentance, our instructor, the one who calls to us and lifts us when we cannot stand.....whats so great to me about Jesus is the things He says he desires us to be to Him....brothers, friends family...the children of the Living God.

for this statement Jesus is condemned, needing no further witnesses Just for this statement alone. what does it Mean?

Mark 14: 61
But he held his peace, and answered nothing. "

What this means is that the very people who should have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God (the Son of the Blessed) and the Son of Man, wilfully and deliberately chose to reject Him and accuse Him of blasphemy (for making Himself equal with God).

The High Priest as well as all the religious leaders of Israel were familiar with the Old Testament prophecies concerning the Son of Man -- that the Ancient of Days (God the Father) would give the Son of Man dominion over all the kingdoms of the world, and that He would have an eternal Kingdom --
dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him (Dan 7:14). This could only be applicable to God Himself.

The Son of Man and the Son of God being the same, they also knew that the Son of Man would be equal to God. But when they actually saw Jesus of Nazareth, and how many miracles He did, and how all the people flocked to Him and even acknowledged Him as Messiah, they were jealous -- envious. He spoke as no man had spoken -- with absolute authority, and He did what no man had done -- signs, wonders, and miracles in the presence of all the people. They could not abide the fact that He was more popular than they would ever be. So they wilfully rejected Him, and this was the culmination of that rejection.

alot of Good stuff there thanks for adding that bro,

i think the scribes of the Law, the teachers of the Law, and the prisets and prophets therof, were blinded By God around the time of the babylonian captivity they are those with "eyes that do not see and ears that do Not Hear" they knew the scriptures really well they could wuote them line for line they " strainrd out a gnat......The problem is Like you are sort of saying, they didnt understand the scriptures were so much about Jesus to come. who would fulfill so many prophecies regarding the messiah and the Kingdom and the " good news of the Gospel.

im not sure they actually at least the majority, knew Jesus was the messiah or understood it because they would have Known Isaiah 53, and the many prophecies of His rod of Iron with wich He will destroy men who will not repent and obey Him. its Onething to Know the scriptures, and another thing to accept and believe and understand them. they didnt. their issue with Jesus was from the start what He was saying about Being the One who fulfills prophecy about the Messiah. the first time they try to kill Him is the beginning of His ministry hen He says this

Luke 4 " And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son? 23And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country. 24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; 26But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. 28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, 29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong. 30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,"

Jesus was telling them in the temple " I Am the One God promised to send to all of you from the time of moses forward. I am the Son of God david spoke of, the Son of man daniel spoke of, the One Isaiah said would suffer and bear the wounds of our punishment and bear our sins to deliver us and rise up from the dead. He was telling them " Moses told you an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life." but i tell you do not repay evil for evil buyt overcome evil with good, turn the other cheek, dont seek revenge, instead remember How I forgave you, and forgive them who offend you"

He challenged thier beliefs that the Christ would be a earthly leader of rebellion to overthrow romes grip on Jerusalem. they wanted military action and Gods power like back in the days of Moses when they would march around a wall and it would fall down and God would always deliver them.

they had not understood much about eternal Life they refused to see that they broke the covenant and Now the curses God said would come, Had been sent forth. they didnt want a New covenant they wanted to continue ruling the people, by the Law of Moses.

The High Priest understood this and realized Jesus was identifying himself as God that's why he accused him of Blasphemy.

why do the clouds represent Gods judgement ? and Jesus is the High priest of the Order of Heaven, the Order of Melchezidek. Not of the levitical Order.

The Jews issue with Jesus regarding His claim to Be the Son of God was thier Judgement

John 5 " And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. 17But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

18Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God."

think of the Bible if we only Had to malachi. and then try to support the doctrine Jesus taught that we are born through His spirit and made children of God. and if you dont have past the prophets......we too would probably all say " thats blasphemy God has no Son, you Jesus are a man, and you are claiming to Be Gods Begotten Son???

that to them would insist that God had intercourse with a woman and then Jesus was begotten as they were. its quite blasphemous if you dont carefully see the doctrine that Leads to the claim " I am the Son of God" and it would still be somewhat blasphemous for a christian top believe " to those who believe in Jesus Gave He the Power to become the sons of God"

you have to recall that they saw God and were terrified by His power and fire and storm and darkness and Hom saying if you come near or even touch this mountain, you must surely die. it was unthinkable that God would have a Son to them. they Knew Jesus was a man. and they saw His clai, to be making more than a man out of Himself, He was saying things Like " My Father Has given all things into My Hands." and " my Father has entrusted all Judgement into My Hands" " He has given me all things under Heaven and in earth......

His claim and the proper christian Belief, is actually that Jesus is the Promised Christ in prophecy, and that He is indeed the Son of the Living God. that is confirmed again and again and also tied directly to eternal Life. and yet No where does any writer of scripture ever make the statement " Jesus is God" Jesus doesnt eiuther He always stops Just short and always acknowledged that The Father is Greater than He, He prayed to God the Father, He was tempted by evil, God cannot be tempted by Evil, God is a spirit, said Jesus in the flesh as He prayed to Him.

I have come out from God and I will return to God, I was with the FATHER in the Beginning, the words I speak are not mine < they belong to the father who sent Me " i ascend to My God and your God to My Father and your Father"

according to those same men, who said to Jesus " we have no Father but God" and " abraham is our Father" they then when Jesus said " God is my Father" accused Him of making Himself equal to God, he actually specifuically makes the distinction that the Father is greater than He is.

he obeys the Father even unto His death on a cross, Jesus is the Christ, He is seated at Gods right Hand, the intermediary between God and Mankind the only mediator God ever gave to man. He is the son of God. God said it Himself at Baptism and the transfiguration. " this is My Son in whom I am well pleased listen to Him"

thats really all anyone should need. God spoke from Heaven and said that, and peter comnfirms it was God saying it when He accounts it Here.

2 peter 1 "
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount."

thats a direct reference to this

matthew 17 "
And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

5While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. 7And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. "

why would God appear at this time in a cloud as He always did before, and say of jesus " This is My Beloved Son, Hear Him" then why would they fall so terrified as people always did in Gods presence in the ot when the cloud appears and voice speaks? why then would Jesus touch them Just Like the man touched daniel in the vision and say " dont be afraid.....?

why does John see the One on the throne with the rainbow around Him, and then see a Lamb who then begins a new song " before it was Holy is the Lord God almighty,,,,Now it becomes " Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and wisdom and glory and Honor and strength.....He will reign forever" ect.....

and also acknowledge God as well as the Lamb? why does the son of man get " lead into the presence of the ancient of days? and given an eternal Kingdom? hoe many Kingdoms does God say are eternal and will always remain?

Jesus is clearly the Christ, the Son of God. saying " Jesus is the Son of God" is acknowledging that He is an extension of God into the flesh of man. just Like any child is an extension of thier parent. He is not the Father, He is the Son the Father is Greater He is God. Jesus is the extension of God to mankind God manifest His spirit in the body of His only begotten Son. for the purpose of revealing God who is spirit to us so we could begin tounderstand the truth that God actually Loves us and desires us to come to Him and Live forever with Him as His Children.

Thats Not a clear thing under the Mosaic Law and walking through the Judgements pf the prophets. at some point you begin seeing God as somehow against us because we have sinned, bit really the message of Jesus is " I know you have sinned, But i still Love you enough to give my Life for you, repent now and come Home you are forgiven come Home and Live.....

Jesus is the Son of God, the messiah who is called Christ. the One God sent, and He was crucified for that claim. i would think the clouds of Heaven the few times they are mentioned actually refer to Jesus. the Son of Man.

why do the clouds represent Gods judgement?
The clouds are metaphors for the saints and angels who accompany the Son of Man as He descends to earth to judge the world. See Rev 1:7. Jude 14,15 clarifies the meaning of clouds, and the word "saints" is literally "holy ones", which include both saints and angels. It is Enoch who prophesied first about the second coming of Christ.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

what is blasphemy?

define it

they defined it as blasphemy, thats why He was crucified. it doesnt matter if I or you agree, they defined it as blasphemy and condemned Him worthy of death. They were the High priest, the scribes and priests, elders, and zealots of the mosaic Law, those who trusted in the words of Gods Law, but seeing them never perceived them with the spirit. Not grasping this aspect of scripture was thier problem,

john 5 "
But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.37And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. 38And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41I receive not honour from men. 42But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

44How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 45Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?"

Moses wrote this

deuteronomy 18 " The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

17And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. "

then you have Jesus saying this kind of thing continually through the book of John making reference to what Moses said

john 12 "
Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.45And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

48He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."

Then you have peter and paul teaching this afterward in the church epistles

acts 3 "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

22For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. ( above deuteronomy 18)

24Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. 25Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

think what peter is saying there He is saying every prophet whos ever spoken beforehand from moses forward has spoken of the days of the Kingdom of God that had Just been given By Jesus, and this comes Just after the day of receiving the spirit a Jesus had promised them.....when i noticed that Peter had said that, i started testing it out and its absolutely true mostly the prophets from 3500 years ago were speaking of the time when the messiah would first come. they told of His birth His many names and purposes, about His crucifixion, that He would Be the Son of God, that He would rise from the dead and God would Give Him great Glory and Honor

the law is full of things pertaining to something Jesus means for us now, such as the levitical Laws of sacrifice and ordinance and service in the earthly temple...the temple is desolate has been for almost 2000 years, there literally is no temple to serve God as they did up until the temple was destroyed.....But then we Now are the temple of God because His spirit Lives in us and doesnt dwell in the inner room of a man made temple in jerusalem, but dwells in the temples of Human Hearts, used to be unthinkable that the Holy spirit of God, would be given to man that He would live in them and be present with them through faith.

But then He said alot after israel broke and defiled the Law of the covenant " I am going to turn things upside down, i am going to confound the wisdom you think you have and make you fools, I am going to exalt those who will simply believe, rather than You Isael who has continually rejected me, now anyone who believes may Be my Children and I will Love them and Keep them and teach them......He did something to show those who learned but never understood, that they were but blind fools who had no grasp of the spiritual Law of God. oits why they never saw that it was prophetic and only the rough draft of what God was going to Do to gather His people, those of all nations of the earth given to the son, By God the Father.

FYI

the "high priests" in the temple at the time of Yahshua were not levites, they were Idumeans (Edomites) the Levites had been run out.

John the baptist was the son of the High Priest Zacharyah (a Levite), whom the pharisees killed, John (a Levite) was preaching in the wilderness.

But facts dont matter to most.

Okay awesome thank you now consider this

john 9 " Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? 36He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?37And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee. 38And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

39And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. 40And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? 41Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth."

john 5 " 21For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation."

then

matthew 24 :
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

now

acts 1 "
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven."

its seems as if Jesus ascended into Heaven onto the clouds, and will return the same way He left. I think to me the figure who is dressed in clouds or sitting on a cloud represents the son of man continously through scripture. its probably why you see the connection to judgement because of course .

And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man."

acts 10 " And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." (spoken to gentiles by peter)

Paul preaching the same thing... acts 17 " And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."

Jesus is the Judge, the return if Jesus will be the harvest, Our judgement is already laid out in the gospel, By the One appointed Judge. all we have to do is Learn His judgement and walk in it, believing both the forgiveness and Grace, and all of the judgements Like " forgive and you will be forgiven" that is Jesus setting Gods Judgement in the earth it was part of the messiahs purpose. what Jesus said is Gods Judgement.

the coming in the clouds is about the Son of Man, who God ordained the Judge of the World because He gave His Life to save the World. I believe if we relate thi to the son of man you then see distant prophecies regarding Jesus existance in Heaven beforehand. because in Heavenly visions Like daniel saw, the One who looked like the son of Man, is Jesus. as it is in many other examples when one sees a man dressed in linens or has a face bright like the sun at Jesus transfiguration.

My view is that its all meant to teach us about Jesus, and the Gospel, i dont see the Bible as a bunch of different things i believe its all connected and speaks a really simple and true message. Jesus is the Lord, Our savior Who Loves us. and All we have to do is Believe in Him, and accept His words. and we will accept when He is teaching us " you need to obey these things, you need to keep my words, you need to do these things, you must do the will of God...as we learn those types of things along with all He teaches, we begin walking in obedience. everything i Know is if anyone Believe Jesus and puts thier faith In Him, and the things He taught, they Belong to God.

But facts dont matter to most.
Yes thats why John the Baptist was the last who preached under the authority of the Law. its about Jesus of the tribe of Judah. Jesus has no attendance in the Law, Judah. you need to read Hebrews bro, the priesthood change is really important. all of what im saying is in Hebrews,

hebrews 7 " If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood,(for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? <<<

12For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. 13For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar. <<<

14For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.<<<< true He didnt

15And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, 16Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. <<< the resurrection

17
For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. <<< not aarons line, but the line of the priest who blessed abraham Gave Him Bread and wine, and then disappeared from scripture...Just as God has promised the gospel to abraham " all people of the earth will be blessed"

18
For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. 19For the law made nothing perfect, ( see v 11 ) but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

20And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
21(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)22By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

23
And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: 24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26
For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore."
