i have seen some minor inquiry about the letter and the spirit of the law. when a reader comes across these terms it can be easily misunderstood, misinterpreted or just outright unknown. I dont have a question to pose but i offer here room for discussion and dissenting views.
The spirit of the law refers to the intent of the law. What the law is conveying to the person. contained within the law are things difficult to convey with a written word. These things are judgement, faith and mercy
Judgement does not necessarily refer to the punishment for a particular crime/sin but meaning to consider, weigh, decide, look into, evaluate and use circumspect. thats the sort od judgement referrred to here.
Faith is an integral part of the law as well. the law is of non effect if there is no faith. it cannot perform to the degree with which it was designed.
Mercy is what we see in forgiveness or as Christ exampled with the woman caught in adultery.
The letter of the law refers to the literal interpretation of the law. this makes the law a mockery and creates a perversion of the law which kills many of the people that the law comes in contact with.
here are some examples; The law says a man cannot lie with a woman while in the days of her flow (menstruation) the letter of the law says you can lay with her at night the law says you shall not work on the sabbath. the letter says christ cannot heal on the sabbath and we cannot walk more than 2000 paces or any number of prohibitions. when you read the new testament notice how Yahshuah and the desciples are accused of breaking the law numerous times. they are breaking the pharisees interpretation of the law.
on this last note; without the law there is no transgression, where there is no transgression there is no need of forgiveness and if there is no need of forgiveness there is no need of Christ and that being said then without the law what are we all doing here? so you see, the law is the strenth of Christ etc. do away with the law do away with Yahshuah

one other note; the letter of the law is imposed by judaism which in no way is associated with faith. Judaism is barely even associated with the old testament. that religion has taken on its own ideology seperate from the scriptures. its primary book of instruction is the Talmud which was written and inspired by men. the talmud, which is the letter of the law allows for sex with minors, children to be sacrificed to Molech and even the breaking of vows to non judaism followers. it is very vulger and anti social
