Well I am glad that is all cleared up.

So I really do not understand what is meant by the "power of the tongue"

Having said that I do agree that sin consciousness as one point was definitely leading to my ruin.

So is this power of the tongue the same a sin consciousness? Is that what he is saying because I find what the OP a
little confusing?

I agree with you about how being so conscious of our sin can make us less conscious of Jesus and what He did to defeat sin in our lives. That's why the Bible says to look at HIS righteousness when we fail NOT ours.

When we look at our sin and failures we end up killing ourselves due to our accepting the condemnation for sin from the enemy of our souls. Jesus took all our sin and it's condemnation at the cross.., so each day we have to learn to receive again in our minds the gift of no condemnation because we have received as a gift Jesus righteousness. We didn't EARN the gift of righteousness., we received it. And so we do that each day in our minds and hearts; saying the Words of truth.

And there is a correlation between our minds and what we say that comes out of our mouths. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If I find myself saying words like "I'm such a rotten sinner" "How could I have done that?!!" "I'm so weak!!" "I'm just so stupid" The devil uses the LIE of self condemnation so skillfully we end up repeating what he whispers in our ears about us. Instead of repeating the truth of our salvation and being in agreement with it., we falsely think it pleases God for us to put ourselves down. Really in doing that we put down the very work of Christ in us.

Instead of BELIEVING and saying what the Bible says about us; For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves it's the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast....I'm loved and accepted in the beloved... There is therefore now NO condemnation.... I'm more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus,.. He that has begun a good work in me will perform it..... Nothing shall separate me from the love of God IN Christ Jesus.....Whatsoever things are true...lovely of a good report think on these things.... For as He is so are we in this world.... Walk in the grace and liberty Jesus has died to give you... The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want... He leads... He guides... He protects....He teaches for His name sake.
If God be for me who can be against me?

His love never fails and He is always faithful and His faithfulness depends on His love and ability to love me graciously ... Not me and my ability to get Him to love me back. His grace is sufficient for me. When I am weak that is when He is shown strong. Grace learned from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God each day is teaching me how to walk out and live this Christian life...Titus 2:11-13

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God [SUP][a][/SUP]hath appeared, bringing salvation to all men, [SUP]12 [/SUP]instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present [SUP][b][/SUP]world; [SUP]13 [/SUP]looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory [SUP][c][/SUP]of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Yes that is the balance on the other side for sure.

But look where he ends

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

So it can be done, even the tongue can be tamed

Actually it is James who gives us insight into the power of the tongue (James 3:1-18).

1My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

I've also given you the answer to that too. You come against the false teaching by teaching the truth! And you rebuke the people who follow the false teachers.
Romans 16:17-18 (CJB)
17 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put snares alongside the teaching in which you have been trained — keep away from them. 18 For men like these are not serving our Lord the Messiah but their own belly; by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the innocent.

Titus 1:13 (CJB)
13 and it’s true! For this reason, you must be severe when you rebuke those who have followed this false teaching, so that they will come to be sound in their trust
Read the Word!! It says When you rebuke those who follow the false teachers.

You can either obey the Word or keep writing your own bible.
You know denadii, there is something wrong with how you understand Scripture. You just said this, "And you rebuke the people who follow the false teachers." No, you got things "butt" backwards because at Titus 1:13 Paul is giving instructions to Titus on how ot deal with false teachers in the Church. He's not telling Titus to "rebuke" those that are following the false teachers because like you they don't know any better because they don't know their Bible.

And look at the other verses you gave me. Romans 16:17,18, "Now I urge you, brethren, KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE WHO CAUSE DIVISIONS AND HINDERANCES contary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them." In other words, don't listen to them. This is "NOT" a rebuke but rather an admonition to beware of false teachers.

Your so caught up in wof "la la land" that you have become oblivious to sound teaching as if this is no big deal. Rebuke the followers and let the wolves continue on their merry way? Ugh

I've also discovered by believing and repeating the lies of the enemy I allow him inroads into my life. That is what the OP is saying in the devotional too and one of the reasons it got posted. I agree. I have a choice., to believe by faith that Jesus loves me and is for me OR that God is looking at me and my problems in life and waiting for me to fail so He can zap me and let the devil take advantage of me to teach me a lesson. That God is going to use satan in my teaching instead of using His Holy Spirit!

How distorted it that!! That is man's way of thinking and we are told to "repent" about what we believe about God and look at Jesus when we want to see the Father. Jesus is full of grace and truth. He loved people and He always showed mercy and He always healed those who came to Him.

There IS a right way to think about this subject of sin and sickness and death in the world. About how words have the power to heal or kill and destroy. People declare death on others each day. And they declare death on themselves without even knowing that they are doing the devils work for him.

I have learned that if I decide to believe and give more heed to my human thoughts that are often scattered and not taking the time to learn and know God's thoughts on a matter., i bring destruction upon myself even when Jesus has paid and delivered me from such destruction here on earth as well as for eternity. By faith I'm to apply the truth. I'm supposed to fight the good fight of faith., live by the righteousness of faith (not works) Having faith in the promises of the Bible and learning and knowing what they are. This takes a life time to do but that is one of the reasons we are here.. to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus and to share of the hope that is in us.

There is a whole lot to this subject.

Amen. The more we know and believe the Bible and recognize the Holy Spirits leading., the more able we will be to allow Him to work in our lives. We can't do it in our own power. And it so helps me to know that when we agree we are totally weak to do this., He will work in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. If I step aside from my agenda and listen to His., things work and His plan unfolds for my eyes to see even along the way of learning so I don't have to have allllll the answers. If I am confident in His love for me life begins to make sense.

While reading this I'm reminded yet again of the beautiful truth that the condemnation is gone. The judgment for believers is gone. We are free from the penalty of sin and death God doesn't judge or condemn...why? because Jesus took all of it on the cross. Paid in full.

But what DOES happen is the believer opens him or herself up to the consequences of not following Christ because they are instead believing in the lies of the enemy and not by faith in Christ's finished work. We can effectively open ourselves up to sin and destruction when we don't believe the truth. It's not God who condemns. It is us who put ourselves outside of the truth like Job did and give satan an inroad into our lives and circumstances. Confusion reigns instead of truth. We have the power to live a life of victory or defeat. It's based on who we put our faith in not on how strong we are.

So true, I have no words to express how much I relate to what you have written.

We do have that inward tongue and it can be very destructive.

Where it states in the OP ....

So when you hear of a deadly virus taking many lives, don’t say, “I’m next because I have not been a good Christian!” Instead, say, “Jesus, You are my righteousness and protection. Surely You shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence!” (Psalm 91:3)

That was me I would be so worried for my kids, anxiety was starting to rule my life and I agree that Satan does find that inroad if we continue down that path of thinking wrongly.

God knows how He made us, and our thoughts do change how we function tremendously, my son is a neuroscientist and they are just learning so much about how the brain is changed by our thinking patterns moment by moment.

Being persuaded that what God has said is true is freeing indeed. It is no fun feeling condemned all the time and thinking one has not measured up, as if we could ever measure up. My life is hid with Him, that is the power of my tongue to say these words and believe them because He said so

So now my thnking patterns are helping my brain not hurting it. ;)

Thanks for sharing

Wow thank you for sharing! Yes and I agree with you too! But I have only just begun to see this about the brain. It can be so complicated when trying to understand the brain. But the truth of His righteousness is what I hold on to as a life line straight from Jesus Himself. My brain with it's many stupid ideas and how I allowed my own thinking to destroy me could have been the end of life here on earth for me. But He rescued me by His love and grace.

Much has been lost to me here on earth because of the wrong thinking and believing. The distortion of the enemy bringing confusion about the Father., Son and Holy Spirit. About the Bible and how to rightly divide the truth. I was not aware of the enemies devices that he could use my mind and thinking against me like that. How he uses confusion and lies and half truths and part experiences to lead us astray as humans. We can ultimately take up our own defenses in life and allow the very things we feared to come upon us. Exactly what I did.

I'm so happy for you UnderGrace!!! And so relate to what you said here in your post and you have encouraged me so much. Those daily thinking patterns I've developed over the years have been slowly changing. Oh man there is still such a long way to go but I know Jesus will take me the rest of the way. Patterns of thinking that have made HUGE indentations of what has identified me as a person that I've just fallen into are changing each day thanks to the hearing and hearing and hearing of His love and grace by the Holy Spirit and the Word.

It's called being changed by the renewing of our MINDS!!! It takes a daily renewing and for me it's been a matter of hearing and hearing and hearing over and over about the love of God in Christ. So much so that no matter what Bible verse I read it's always put up to the cross in how I interpret it. I know the love of God in Christ has to be part of the formulation of rightly dividing the truth. And even if I don't know the right interpretation today., it will soon be revealed so there is a confident expectation of an answer coming. What a change of how to live!!! No worries!!! No fear!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!

God never called any of these men

God chastises His sons and daughters

they do not receive correction

they are false

sadly, sometimes a person will have an actual 'call' of God on their lives and they blow it

your story of David has more to do with David's respect then God's anointing

God TOTALLY disrespected (in the vernacular of sports enthusiasts) Saul

Saul went to a witch and asked for a seance

do you actually think God shrugs things like that off?
Didn't David always acknowledge Saul as being anointed by God?

Never really understood the "renewing of the mind" especially when I was young and a new believer, but it a powerful powerful concept/truth for sure.

Sometimes I forget the simplest things from the pressures of life and then I think, God made me, He knows me, when I

think those things my mind is renewed.;)

Yes. And didn't David not kill Saul when he had the opportunity? Saul was gunning for David day and night but David never raised his hand to Saul even when he could have. I often think of how the sons of Noah came upon their father naked after Noah foolishly got drunk. The one brother went and talked about his dad while the other 2 covered their dad up.

We often have opportunity as believers to uncover one another's sins for all the world to see. I think that what we do has to first be gauged whether we are doing it for love or to satisfy our anger. Are we doing something so we can "consume it upon our lusts" for self aggrandizement (wow big word on spell check) or are we doing something to actually bring out the truth and love of Christ?

In other words, don't listen to them. This is "NOT" a rebuke but rather an admonition to beware of false teachers.

Your so caught up in wof "la la land" that you have become oblivious to sound teaching as if this is no big deal. Rebuke the followers and let the wolves continue on their merry way? Ugh

IN GOD THE SON,
bluto
Bluto I admit that I don't expect that you will understand this either but....
Do My Prophets No Harm
This is quoted from Psalm 105:15 and is speaking of The Nation Israel and Her Prophets. In verse 14 God says, "He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm."
There is a growing attitude in religious circles, even in Bible-believing Churches, that it is okay to do God's Prophets (preachers) harm. This is brought about because of the present day profiteering of hireling preachers. I must confess, I have never seen or heard of so much corruption in the Ministry. I also agree with much of the condemnation of this group. It certainly has made it difficult and sometimes impossible for us to win some people to Christ. Hirelings have put stumbling stones and rocks of offense in the way of their faith. For this, I am truly sorry. I personally believe a preacher who has been caught in immorality, extortion and such should be brought before the Church (local), disciplined according to the Scriptures, and therefore unable to move to another place and repeat the same offense. This would put a stop to most of it and encourage the faith of lost people. In fact, I believe God will hold a local congregation accountable for not dealing with immorality in their Pastor, and especially allowing him to move on without warning the next congregation. For example, I know of several cases where an assistant Pastor was caught in immorality and was allowed to resign and move to another place where he repeated the same immorality. I also believe God will hold a Church and its leadership responsible for the next transgression which would have been avoided had it been dealt with in a Biblical fashion.
I said all that to say this: There is a vast difference between dealing with an ungodly Preacher and a Godly man of God. You would be wise to be careful and not raise a hand or voice against a true man of God. What does the Bible say about it? I will continue next week with some Bible examples and some true life illustrations of God's dealing with those who did His Prophets harm.
Part 2
On this past Sunday at lunch, I heard a man "have his Pastor for lunch." He was criticizing the Pastor's Sunday message, saying he should have preached such-and-such a message. Now, even if I felt that, I sure wouldn't say it in a public place where others could hear. I think it impossible to be a coincidence that the very day after I write on the subject, I get a firsthand example of my subject. It was a strong confirmation to my heart from God that He indeed placed it on my heart to write on the subject.
Listen, friends, you could be right in your opinion and wrong in your actions. A bulldog can whip a skunk any day; it just isn't worth the battle.
In Numbers 12:1-2, 4-9 we see, "And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it... And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed." Read the rest of the chapter and notice the LORD departed and in verse 10, "Miriam became leprous." In verse 11 we see "And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned." Then in verse 13, "And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee." Look at God's reply to Moses' "Heal her now" in verse 14. "If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days?" If she had to be unclean and shut out seven days for that, she certainly would be unclean for what she did to the Man of God. By the way, did you notice that Miriam is most likely the instigator in this and the complaint in verse 1 and 2 are different? Aaron is a follower! Isn't that the way it usually happens? Warning: Be careful who you follow. It could cost heavily! To be continued...
Part 3
In Numbers 16 we have the account of Korah, Dathan, Abiram and their company of rebels who rose up against Moses and Aaron saying in verse 3, "Ye take too much upon you... wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?" Verse 4 states, "And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face." Then he spoke to Korah and all his company telling them to show up tomorrow and God will show who are His. He tells them to bring censors and put fire therein and incense. Then in verses 7-11 notice: "Ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi."; "Seemeth it but a small thing unto you?"; "seek ye the priesthood also?" Moses states that they are "gathered together against the LORD." He calls for Dathan and Abiram and they refuse to come and accuse Moses of making himself a Prince over them. Moses becomes very wroth and "said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them." Then he tells them to meet tomorrow with his company and their golden censors. They meet at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation and the glory of the LORD appeared. Verse 20-21 states, "And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment." Moses intercedes for them in verse 22, yet God says, "Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram." Moses goes to their tents and speaks verse 26, "Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their's, lest ye be consumed in all their sins." In verse 29, their sin was so severe that they are not going to die a common death and God was going to make a new thing to teach others of the severity of the offense. Verses 30-35 tell us that the earth opened up and swallowed them all alive with all they had and then closed up. Then a fire went out from the LORD and killed the 250 followers.
Do you realize that all this happened because they raised up against a man of God?
May I sound out this warning again? Moses, Aaron and every other real man of God are in positions that are protected by God Himself. The honor belongs to the position rather than the person holding the position. Look at 1 Samuel 24 and 1 Samuel 26 and see that David spared Saul, not because he deserved it, but because he was in an anointed position. He even felt bad about cutting off the skirt of Saul's robe. 1 Samuel 26:9 states, "Who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD'S anointed, and be guiltless?" See verses 11, 16 and 23. When David heard of Saul's death in 2 Samuel 1:1-16, he mourned, wept, and fasted. In verse 14, David asks, "How wast thou not afraid to destroy the LORD'S anointed?" Then in verse 16 after the young man is slain, David said, "Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the LORD'S anointed." Saul was not special in himself, but the position he held was.
Part 4
Last week I gave the example of Miriam and Aaron rising up against Moses and having God rebuke them. God asked Miriam and Aaron a question in Numbers 12:8. "Wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?" That is a good question for today. Why are people emboldened to speak against and criticize a man of God? The answer: They either do not know what the Bible says or they do not care what the Bible says about this subject. In Numbers 12, God did not rebuke their opinion. Please notice however, He rebuked their rebellion against the man of God. Verse 9 tells us, "And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them;" God never said their opinion was wrong. The crux of the matter was their boldness to criticize the man of God. May I sound another warning: You may be correct in your opinion, but you will be wrong to go against a true Spirit-filled man of God. I have often told my congregation that if My Pastor, Dr. Charles E. Wright, told me he wanted a light pole in the middle of the parking lot, I would ask him to mark the spot and ask no questions. Furthermore, I would not let anyone criticize him. Let me go a step further: If anyone opened their mouth about it to me, I would ask, "Have you said this Pastor?" If their response is "no", I would tell them they have no business saying it to me, and they better hurry and get to him before I do. This would put a stop to most gossip, backbiting and criticism in Churches.
Let me give another example from the Bible. In 2 Kings.2:23-25, Elisha is going toward Bethel "and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them." There is no doubt that these children learned their irreverence from their parents in town. They didn't just mock anyone...they mocked a man of God and God made an example of them. Read it in your Bible. All they did was make fun of his bald head. Not only that, but they are also poking at him by saying "go up." Elijah went up and they are alluding to that. Again, it is obvious that they are following their parent's criticism. Let me sound another warning: Parents, if you make a habit of having the preacher for lunch and criticize him before your children, do not be surprised if they become irreverent and uninterested in the things of God. If you criticize the man of God in front of them, you are their own worst enemy and you place a stumbling block that will destroy.
Part 5
Read Matthew 23:29-39 and Acts 7:51-52 and see how Israel treated the Prophets God sent to them. In Matthew 23:35 Jesus said, "That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar."
Would you please look at Hebrews 13:7,17 and 24 and notice: "Remember them that have the rule over you...", "Obey them that have the rule over you..." and "Salute them that have the rule over you..."
My dear friends, we preachers did not write those words. You would be wise to heed those words.
I know there are churches in our area that have a constant turnover of Pastors. Usually it is the same 5% of unspiritual, cantankerous Church members that bring this about. The same crowd tries to run the Pastor. When that doesn't work, they get up a campaign to get rid of him and stop at nothing, including ruining him and his family. Let me give some free advice. The other 95% of the Church members ought to stand with the good Pastor, go to the troublemakers and attempt to correct the situation. If that doesn't work, tell it to the Church and practice discipline on them. The cause of Christ demands it! The Word of Christ demands it! If you fear them more than you fear God, you can expect Ichabod to be written over the door of your Church. I am not trying to run other Churches. It is just sad to hear of constant Church trouble by the same people year after year. Look at Proverbs 6:19 and notice one of the things God hates is "A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren."
I want to give some examples of how God dealt with folks for rising up against the Man of God. A young Pastor in Michigan started a Church in a storefront. The Pastor felt it was time to buy land and build. He presented his burden to the people and gave the first $100 to buy the land. (He worked a job and pastored) He was asking for commitments following his example. He asked, "Who can give a hundred?" "Fifty?" "Twenty?" "Ten?" Finally, he asked with his index finger lifted, "Who will give a dollar?" Later a young couple with a critical attitude began mocking him at home lifting the index finger and saying "Who will give a dollar?" Four months later, their little baby girl was born... without an index finger on the right hand. They apologized to the Pastor and were left with a reminder of their rebellion against God's man. To be continued with more examples.
Part 6
In article #5 I started giving some examples of how God dealt with those who raised up against the true man of God. A baby lost a finger and a couple saved their lives. It was not so with a lady in Alabama. A disgruntled Church member had been calling around stirring up people about the Pastor. The Pastor and his wife were to sing and Bro. Phil Kidd was to preach. A church member stood up and wanted to "Testify". When he started to attack the Pastor, Bro. Kidd told the Pastor and his wife to go ahead and sing. This made the man mad and he and about 35 people walked out and stood at the front seeking a confrontation. The Pastor and Bro. Kidd went out. In the group was a good woman who had been listening to the man. She ran up to the Pastor shaking her finger in his face and said, "you are the problem; you have ruined our Church; this is our Church; you need to leave." The Holy Spirit spoke to Bro. Kidd's heart and said, "Tell Mrs. White I am going to kill her for what she just did to the man of God." Bro. Kidd walked up to her and said, "I need to say something to Mrs. White." She said, "Bro. Kidd, I'm sorry you're here and I'm sorry for what I said. I'm sorry you're in the midst of this mess." Bro. Kidd said, "Mrs. White, the Holy Spirit told me to tell you you're going to die for what you just did to the man of God." A hush just fell over the place and folks began leaving quietly. Twenty-nine days later the Pastor called Bro. Kidd from her hospital bedside. The doctors were puzzled stating her system was shutting down for no reason. She had apologized to the Pastor and the Church and wanted to apologize to Bro. Kidd. Bro. Kidd said, "Mrs. White, I love you and I forgive you, but you are still going to die." She died the next morning.
Dr. Charles E. Wright, Pastor for 22 years of Peoples Baptist in Morrow, Ga. had this experience. A woman would call the Church and ask for a member of a certain family, harassing them. She was after the husband. Finally, Bro. Wright answered the phone. She asked, "Who is this?" Bro. Wright said, "I am the Pastor." She responded, "You're not a Pastor, you're the devil." She dropped dead a few days later. Bro. Wright also told me of four men who went against his Pastor years ago. One had his wife leave for another man, a son that died, and finally, he died unexpectedly. Another, a banker, had a daughter give birth to an illegitimate child, a son to commit suicide, he went into bankruptcy, his wife lost her mind and he died of a stroke. Another one went to the hospital with severe indigestion. The doctor said he felt it was a blood clot. Bro. Wright visited him and he said boldly with his continued attitude, "I don't believe I got a blood clot." They sent him home and he died of a blood clot.

it says the opposite

but better not read what it says about false prophets and teachers since wof follows them

I mean here is a person who claims to know the Bible and says the Bible tells us not to criticize 'preachers'

where can we find that verse? sounds like Bernie Madoff saying 'whadya mean it wasn't my money? they gave it to me!'

is that what God said to Samuel when Saul did not obey God's instructions regarding the spoils of war?

you know, like 'Samuel! touch not mine anointed!' is that what God said?

whazat? CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!

no. in fact God GAVE THE ANOINTING TO ANOTHER, A SHEPHERD BY THE NAME OF DAVID.

you may have heard of him

this utter garbage and nonsense regarding anointed people. it is such a misued phrase and misunderstood

God CHOOSES who He wishes to anoint. however, we have all these false prophets, teachers and other three ring circus masters calling themselves anointed and the anointed apostles of Barney the Dinosaur anointing. the I anoint you, you anoint me, we anoint each other (sung to the tune of Barney's song)
denadii is Proverbs 30.20

This is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says, “I have done no wrong.”

Didn't David always acknowledge Saul as being anointed by God?
Here is what God said Mag....
1 Samuel 16.1

16 Now the Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have selected a king for Myself among his sons.”

Was listening to a message this evening about how we are to look at the saints in the Bible who were blessed. When the Bible says one of the saints was "blameless" it's not saying they were perfect in their actions. What they were blameless in was the way they trusted Him having faith in Him and not themselves or their situations. I believe this means they kept on believing each time the temptation came not to believe. They were blameless in their faith towards God not in their works towards God.

Just another way that many have not interpreted the Bible well. We have misinterpreted certain verses (each one of us at one time or another) . The reason all of us who have Jesus are blameless is because Jesus has taken our sin and shame and blame.

Well, is it not a different between missinterpreting a verse because of Lack on bible knowledge and false teaching? In the devotional you mentioned from JP it has nothing to do with missinterpreting a verse. JP just claim something what clear is not standing in the bible. Further he ignored what is standing there! Thats the problem! Not a simple mistake in reading the bible.

Whats the difference between claiming a teaching is false and simply ignoring it? One is an honest disobedience, and the other makes a good excuse for disobedience.
