I do what the Lord Jesus shows me to do. The 10 commandments came through Moses. If the Law could save anyone, Jesus died for nothing. The Christian life is a life of obedience and faith. But not faith in the Law or obedience to a few commandments.
Romans 8:14:
"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." It does not say, all who are led by God's law.

The argument that all 613 of the commandments are ceremonial is simply false. Some were for health reasons. According to the Law, if you have a contagious disease, you need to burn your house down. You should not eat pork, many kinds of fish, shellfish and such. Yet Peter was instructed to eat "unclean" foods in violation of God's law. It is up to God what we can and should not do.

I was saved while I was in the military. On the one hand, apparently I should not have reported for duty on Saturdays. Except I'd be letting down colleagues and risking their lives. Not much of a witness, I suspect.

The folly of legalism is that the Christian life is far harder than obedience to the Law. Following a set of rules is simple and requires no faith. Following the leading of the Spirit requires faith and ears to hear what the Spirit is saying.
There was a Seventy-day Adventist named Desmond Doss who won the medal of honor in his role as a medic. It is an interesting story.

will you say that in order to know what sin is, you need to understand the law.

i agree that knowing the Law will not set anyone free from the power of sin.
Jesus is the only way.
But how do we confess our sins if we don't know what sin is.
to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

nothing about keeping the Sabbath...

There are quite a few verses about the Sabbath:
[Isa 58:13-14 KJV] 13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, [from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].

Thats a definition of sin, but its not the only one

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

The Sabbath is one of God's commandments and part of the law of God that did not go away in the NT, it is still a commandment- meaning its a sin to break

Luk2 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

God only gave a name to one day, the seventh day Sabbath, that He claimed as His holy day, the holy day of the Lord thy God Isa 58:18 that was made for man Mark 2:27 because we are made in the image and likeness of God to follow Him.

Jesus kept the Sabbath and if we abide in His love, we would also follow His example John 15:10 1 John 2:5-6

We are told if we break one of the commandments of God we break them all quoting and contrasting directly from the Ten James 2:10-12 why Jesus taught not to break the least of these commandments as one would be in fear of sin and Judgement Mat 5:19-30

God knows what's best for us and only wants to bless Isa 56:2 and sanctify His children Eze 20:12, because we cannot do that ourselves, we need God.

Moral law has never but the way/law to fullfil it has changed. Not by the old way of the letter BUT the New way of the Spirit.

Priesthood under the OC change so also the law in which they administer. This includes the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments is also called "the covenant law" which refers to the OC.
Yes, the New Covenant was established on Better Promises Heb 8:6,it still has "God's law" now written in the heart. The location of the Ten Commandments changed, not the law itself, God promises He would not alter His words Psa 89:34 not a jot or tittle can pass until Jesus comes in the Clouds because no one is above the Authority of God. Its why in the NC the Sabbath is still a commandment Luke 23:56 and why the apostles also kept holy every Sabbath decades after the Cross Acts 15:21 Act 13:42 Acts 13:44 Acts 18:4 a Christian is a follower of Christ- Christ always led by example and He kept the Sabbath Luke 4:16-17 and if we abide in His love we would also keep the commandments and follow in His footsteps 1 Peter 2:21-22 1 John 2:5-6

The Pharisees were admired and respected for their righteous way of life. Yet they hated Lord Jesus. It is possible to be outwardly righteous yet inwardly dead. I'll stick with Jesus, my righteousness, my wisdom, my sanctification and my power. I'll walk in the Spirit and so have the power to overcome the flesh. You keep trying to please God. I died and my life is hidden in Christ with God. I died to the Law, to the world, to self and to sin. I rose with Christ to new life. That suits me just fine.
Was the Pharisees being condemned for keeping the commandments of God, or not keeping them? Jesus condemned them for not keeping and replacing them with their own laws, which is what we do, when we rely on our own version of right and wrong doing and not God's Psa 119:172, and His is everlasting Psa 119:142 our version is as fifthly rags. Isa 64:6

Mat 15:1 Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, 2 “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”

3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; (quoting from the Ten Commandments Exo 20:12) and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— 6 then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”

12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”

13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

Following their example Jesus says leads to a ditch- why He taught not to break or teach others to break the least of these commandments as our righteousness must exceed the Pharisees Mat 5:19-20

The path we are on right now is based on our choices. Whoever we obey is who we serve. Sin unto death, obedience to God unto righteousness. We can listen to the noise out these telling us we can break one God's commandments, but Adam and Eve listen to the wrong voice and it didn't work out so well.

Obeying God the way He said through faith and love reconciles

Isa 56:4 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,

Rev 22: 14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
