The Trinity falls short of the glory of God. Just as the one God is three, so is the one Holy Spirit seven.

1 "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. (Revelation 3:1)

5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. (Revelation 4:5)

6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6)

Ummm, dude...the TRINITY IS GOD. So how can God fall short of the Glory of God??
Better rethink that one!

What that means is that the idea of the Trinity falls short of the reality of God as revealed in scripture.

trust_in_the_name, oh my goodness, i'm at a lose for words.

it is very hard concept to understand. so instead of making a mess of it

I will just give you more on the seven spirits you might not have read yet. just some more food for thought.....

Revelation 5:6
And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

notice that the seven horns and eyes are referred to as the seven Spirits of God?

Horn is a symbol of power and strength and you know what eyes are symbolic of?

Luke 11:34
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.

it also ties in with the seven churches (lamp stands) and seven angels(stars) of those churches.

I don't know if there's a connection between the term in Revelation 5:6 and Luke 11:34, but it would be consistent: Luke 11:34 does seem to be in line with what we know about the Holy Spirit, which is what fills our body with light (righteousness).

When you say that God & the Holy Spirit are persons, you are lowering them to humanity, & they are both far superior to anything we can even remotely imagine!!!

Ok, let me help, persons doesn't always mean humans or people...but being that is a moral being with intelligence

Have you ever counted how many times the number 7 is mentioned in the book of revelation? do you think God is trying to tell us something?
