1 Peter 4:8
1 Peter 4:1-2, 7-9 KJV
charity is the heart and a fruit of Gods love it’s the active part that makes us go from feeling sorry for someone to setting our own self aside and helping the person love is a feeling we have towards people but it’s also like faith if o feel love but won’t reach out to help you if I’m able , what good is telling you I love you ?
by hearing and believing the gospel and starting to follow the ways Jesus taught it creates a real godly love a good feeling towards others but also when we apply the word to ourself it spits us to action like Christ acted when we needed him even though it meant his suffering and death he loved us in reality with deed and in truth
“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us:
and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.”
1 John 3:16-19, 23 KJV
In the gospel Jesus teaches us how to love God and one another as Gods children respecting his judgements in Christ as if he is our father and we are his children.
The issue with the new “gospel of grace alone “ in the world is the message in it “ there is nothing for you to do your already saved don’t think you need to do anything your saved by grace not works “
is that it attempts to curb the fear of God that’s designed to prod us to keep striving for better from our own selves to give to God a better gift of our life each day, of course not to “ earn “ salvation but to manifest salvation in our lives and cease serving satans Will for us which is sin and death and learn from Jesus how to walk with God and be saved
If the message was “ you’re saved by grace through faith , so no one can boast , and now you are meant to learn the gospel and walk in the good works prepared for you to walk in “
it would be different than saying “ your saved by grace alone there’s nothing more for you to believe or learn and accept and do , your already saved forget about this part ….
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
2 Corinthians 5:10-11 KJV
that’s not for you to accept and believe your already judged and saved no matter what you do “
if we remove the part that teaches Christian’s what to do and the part that motivates then to repent and do those things like the fact that we all have to face Jesus for every word and deed we do , it doesn’t mean we’re going to be judged without mercy that day
but it means we’re going to have to give account of our lives after we say “I believe “ not according to what Moses said but according to what Jesus the eternal judge said
doesnt mean we’re lost or going to burn if we aren’t perfect at all or anything like that , but there’s a lot in the gospel that’s meant to turn us firmly against sin and accepting that we’re just it’s slaves , to overcoming its grip on our lives and freedom to start serving Gods Will in the gospel we believe and love and trust in for our salvation
Aeschylus of us has our own relationship with Jesus and we all have to face the day we have to answer for what we say and do so we should learn from him and the word he sent to all people
a theres a lot in it that the word “ grace” tries to remove from existance but all of the things that are like this are true and meant for us to believe so we change and know the fear of living in sin as a believer
Things like this turn a believer against the idea that it doesn’t matter how we live what I’m getting at is that the complete message of grace and remission of sins through Christs atonement and resurrection and faith by hearing and believing his words in the gospel saves us
we can’t preach only one part and insist it’s all there is it seems there’s a lot of that either grace or only works and forgetting about grace and faith and repentance
