It says in the Bible to consider it pure joy whenever a hardship comes your way. Do youuu consider it joy whenever someone damages your car? or rough tests come your way? I know I do :)

Nope. I consider it pure aggravation.

But, and I mean this sincerely, thanks be to God that you can consider it pure joy. :)

Hebrews 12:2 *Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

James 1:2 *¶My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 *Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 *But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Not at the time but knowing the outcome will produce something good really helps.

chara -- pronounced: khar-ah'

from 5463; cheerfulness, i.e. calm delight: KJV -- gladness, X greatly, (X be exceeding) joy(-ful, -fully, -fulness, -ous).

I would think Joy isn't the same as happiness, when things go wrong I always try to remain calm and not freak out because I know it does no good and isn't godly. Sometimes I have to act nice even though I don't feel like it one bit as well.

Joy is not the same as happiness.Joy is above happiness.

Happiness is controlled by the person and a person can lose their happiness temporarily if someone gives them a hard time or something they don't like happens.
Happiness is controlled by the person.

Jesus said He gives us joy that no man can take away.

Joy is controlled by the Holy Spirit and no matter how much people bother us or a situation happens that we do not like that joy will be there to help us to love the person that bothers us and the situation we do not like.
Joy is controlled by the Holy Spirit and no man takes that away which means no matter how much people bother us they cannot take that joy away and that joy will help us to endure their folly.

People in the Spirit will have that joy which is above happiness.

Jesus said rejoice when you suffer persecution not if your car breaks down which can make a person mad,but you can be thankful that you have salvation and rejoice, and your car breaking down is only a minor set back, but if you get mad because your car broke down that is alright but do not sin because of it.

The Bible says be angry but sin not.You are alright if you get mad because your car broke down but do not sin because of it.If someone makes you mad because they mistreated you, don't worry,be mad but sin not.We will not like what people do and how they treat us because we live for God or any other reason and it is alright to be mad because we do not like their ways, but we always love the people,be mad but sin not,and do not let the sun go down on your wrath but get rid of your anger.

Joy is dependent on what is on the inside of you and happiness is dependent on how it is going on the outside of you.

I'm trying very hard to keep worshipping God thr the storms. I do a lil happy dance like snoopy. It doesn't mean we actually feel all happy if our car gets wrecked into. But our attitudes of how we react is what we are to keep in the right place. So the world can be falling apart around me but I will keep rejoicing and praising my Lord no matter what thr anything. It makes such a world of difference. Its cool!

I was reading 1 Samuel today and it was about David and Goliath, David kept asking "what will the King give me for fighting Goliath, he kept asking different people the same question and he knew what the outcome was going to be before he fought. I think he had great joy at that time. I think Joy and faith go together.

1 Samuel 17

23 And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spake according to the same words: and David heard them.
24 And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.
25 And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.
26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?
27 And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that killeth him.
28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
29 And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?
30 And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.
31 ¶And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him.
32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.
34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:
35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

Amen, brother! Joy is more of a gift, long lasting, and such a blessing to have throughout the trials. When happiness is sort of a choice, like.. An easy come/easy go emotion..
