So I am just wondering what you people think , ages ago I became a Christian (4-5 years) shortly afterwards I turned my back on Christianity and became a Satanist then an Atheist, now I've recently came back to Christianity but did I commit the unforgivable sin by doing this? If not how do you commit this sin?

God loves you as His child. You did not find Him but He found you. You were like a sheep who wandered away from the fold of God and now found by Him. You have not committed an unforgivable sin. Please don't give the devil a chance to rub you off your joy of salvation because that is his business to fill you with guilt. Unforgivable sin is like willing blaspheming or denying the Holy Spirit. I don't believe you have committed this sin no matter what you have done in the past. It is God's grace that led you back to Christianity. so be strong. God bless you.

Thank you very much sir, I would never willfully blaspheme god, the holy spirit, or jesus I love God's creations I love Earth and I love my Christian brothers and sisters it is nice to see comforting text from a fellow Christian, thank you sir I struggle in my life because of OCD and it affects my thinking so I keep thinking I have blasphemed the holy spirit in my mind when I probably have not I just need to let it go and focus on all that is good.

I am worried I might commit this sin in the future though does anyone have advice? I think I may do it accidently because I have OCD obsessive compulsive disorder or I might accidently do it in the future not knowing it how can I be sure I won't commit this sin in the future?

Well cloud, I was taught that the unpardonable Sin was something you just can't do by accident. It's much deeper than just a random thought that may come to mind. Check out this link. It tells more about what the unpardonable really is and why. http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/unpardonablesin.html It really breaks it all down and should answer any lingering questions.

I use to say in my days as a satanist (which where very short btw) satan isn't such a bad guy after all he use to be an Angel right? I use to say he's probably a good guy really, but back then I was a fool and didn't realize he is responsible for Hell and ruined everyone's chances for Heaven he is far from a good guy. By saying he "wasn't such a bad guy" that is not doing the unforgivable was it? At the time I was very misinformed and naive.

The bible says that satan is a liar and the father of all liars. He lied to you by making you believe he was a good guy. but now the truth of God has set you free, and need to remain free. Your thought about satan being a nice guy was not an unforgivable sin. Please note that God has forgiven you for the sins you have done in the past and the sins you might commit in the future (because no one is perfect). God counts you as righteous not base on your own righteousness but on your faith in His Son Jesus Christ.

I just read this passage and... seems like I have comitted the unforgivable sin? Unless anyone else can clarify?
Hebrews 6:4-8: "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned. Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case — the things that have to do with salvation.

Alright that there seems pretty clear to me that I have comitted the unforgivable sin then again I am a fairly new Christian and probably not as bible literate as some of you, can someone give their thoughts?

Heb 6:4-8 is referring to falling away. i.e. complete turning away from the faith, that means you don't want to be a Christian anymore, give up your faith, and seriously mean it, and/or do some serious sin or action to prove it, and never return to Christ. So you haven't committed that sin CloudStrife if you are a Christian.

But I prayed the prayer of salvation more than once, is this not blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Like it said I have shamed Jesus and his sacrifice.

Godly sorrow leads to repentance. True rependance is not something u could achieve on ur own. There is God ever convicting u of ur actions and ur need for repentance. I believe that ur rebelious was against God the Father, not the Holy Spirit. Please remember the story of the prodigal son. He was once a son but chose to become a servant dinning with pigs. Though away from home the father still called him "son". If it is impossible to
repent and be restored back to faith - back to the Father, I believe that it does not apply to you because u are already restored and repented of ur past. I can see your love and passion for the true God. God is ever willing to to forgive and accept u and has already accepted u. Isreal as a nation went away from God so many times but were forgiven when they turned away from idols and served the only true God.

Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Jeremia 3: 20 Again, When a righteous man does turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at your hand.
21 Nevertheless if you warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also you have delivered your soul.

Definition of Blasphemy: An irreverent or impious act, attitude, or utterance in regard to something considered inviolable or sacrosanct. Also it says in the bible that it is not just spoken blasphemy but any blasphemy , look here. Mark 3:29 - But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin. Well I believe that this could mean blasphemy in your thoughts, text or anything unspoken behaviour so if you disrespect anything in the Bible or disagree that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit yes? The Holy Spirit wrote the Bible through man correct? So if you have disrespected the Holy Spirit in your actions or thoughts or made a joke one tiime which you thought was funny but you didn't mean it you still blasphemed the Holy Spirit am I right?

And not only does He welcome the prodigal son home, but restores him right back to his rightful position in the family of God with the robe, the ring, the shoes and the fatted calf celebration, despite the elder son's objection.

Blasphemy of the holy spirit is purposely and willfully contributing some you know for a fact to be of God to the Devil. Backsliding is not unpardonable, shaming Christ and or His sacrifice is not unpardonable.

What if someone does not believe in the Holy Spirit? Is that unforgivable? I mean if they believe in God but not the Holy Spirit? Why does everyone say that it is contributing something of the Holy Spirit to the devil? This is only mentioned once in the Bible with the pharisees but blasphemy can mean disrespect or uttering obscenities against correct? So if you swear at the Holy Spirit / insult it is it not the same thing? Or what if you say replace the name of the Holy Spirit as a joke (a very bad one) like the father the son and the holy cow/dog/sheep or whatever isn't that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit too?

Ur situation sounds like Romans 11:11-25!!! But don't forget Hebrews 6:4-8!!! Truth is... surely... to say to ones self "there is no God" (Psalm 14:1) is to cast the whole member into the fire (Matthew 5:30). Isn't that what atheists do? Even if cut off from the tree (Body of Christ), as atheists so often are, one can still return to salvation (Romans 11:16-25)! God is the judge of judges, so it may help U to stop chasing "religion", since even atheism is a masonic religion. It gives rise to idols, & false prophets who give rise to idol worship! For example; american idol is equal to or greater than mammon... Obama is equal to or greater than Pontius Pilot. - Ephesians 6:12 - Did U know that the first name of Barabbas was also Jesus. The Name That is ABOVE All Names is Yahshua Ha Meshiach Ben Yahweh Yehovah Elohim.
