The Bible lists the problem of sin like this:

#1. Lust (For why would you think of it if you didn't desire it?).

#2. Sin (Acting on your desire).

#3. Death (Which is the result of sin).

The Bible says we are to think on that which is good. For we have to realize that one of the reasons given to us why the Earth was destroyed with a global flood is that their thoughts were evil continually. For how can we really know if a bad thought is our own or from the devil? I believe the safer play is to confess any bad thoughts or desires so as to keep one's heart right with God.

Internal Temptation only exists if one has a wrong desire or lust for that thing they are tempted with.
Jesus never had any bad thoughts or wrong desires. Jesus always had right thoughts and correct desires. For him to knoweth to do good and he does it not, to him it is sin. If Jesus knew it was good to not think bad thoughts or not have bad desires (Which needs to be present in order for "internal temptation" to exist), then He would have sinned for not walking the higher road in being pure in his thoughts and desires.

I was raised being taught (whether purposefully or not) that Jesus was the Son of God - not being God, but His Son. It was John 8 that originally made me re-evaluate my beliefs on this topic.

But the point that I was making is that the Bible says that Jesus was tempted and God cannot be tempted. I am not saying that Jesus was not God in the flesh, but that the Bible seems to contradict itself on this matter. Listen closely...I am not saying that the Bible contradicts itself. I am saying that I will not bully people into believing that which I don't fully understand.

God tells us what we need to know.
So the points I brought up are just moot, my friend?

No, I don't really know how to explain it any better.

I believe that Jesus was God in the flesh.

Scriptures say that God cannot be tempted and that Jesus was tempted. There are scriptures that suggest that Jesus and God are two separate beings and there are scriptures that say they are One. Since I don't believe that scripture contradicts itself, I proclaim ignorance and maybe someday God will let me know more if He so desires. But, I will not get upset with someone for believing the very thing that I once believed. I will discuss it with them and let them decide. I don't believe that saying Jesus is the Son of God makes Him any less Deity. But I also believe that the Bible tells us that Jesus was God in the flesh.
