It is no use using words or terms if we are all using them differently.

Also, what is the difference between what we believe and what demons believe? Is this related to Easy Believism???

When you say a Christian needs to believe. Believe what, specifically; please spell it out.

I believe that without Faith, Belief means nothing. It is all too easy and a cop out to say "I believe" and not have the Faith to back it up.

Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Believe has multiple meanings, and I actually just did a youth group lesson on this. Believe can mean knowing and trusting. Demons know (believe) God exists, but they don't trust (believe) in him. If we want eternal life we have to trust (believe) in Jesus, but we can't do that until we know (believe) he exists.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes (trusts) in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

We need to believe in Jesus, don’t we?

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 RSV

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father.
With the Father and the Son
he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. AMEN.

That's what I think is a nice start. :)

God has all power and can do all things. It is important not to worship faith. Yes we are to have faith. Without faith we can't get to the power of God. Strong faith is good but even lil faith works. We must remember it is still all about the power that is in God.

An incomplete list of things you can believe and still not be saved.

God exists.
Jesus is God's son.
Jesus died on the cross.
Jesus rose again.

The demons can believe all this too.

See how we need to be more precise?

First, the entire point of works and faith in the book of James is about man being justified before men because they cant see the heart. But we are justified by faith by God, because God KNOWS our heart(1 Samuel 16:7). Man can fool man, but he cannot fool God! You can do all the good works you like, and if you mix works and faith, that's a recipe for hell....

"easy believism" is a derogatory term used by people such as the Lordship salvation crowd, who demand something more than believe(ie:faith) to be saved.....The "believe" John 3:16 and the rest of the Scriptures require to be saved is FAITH:

"Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing." John 20:27

In fact the Lordship salvation crowd have really ADDED works to faith, but saying "believe" is not enough....Where I have shown you that believe and faith are one and the same concerning salvation.....You either accept the free gift or reject it....Its that simple....come to Him as a guilty lost sinner and ask Jesus to save you.....Read my signature, it goes into more detail about this thread topic.....

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." James 2:19

Anyone can believe that there is one God, but no one can even go to the Father without first going through the Son-

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

Its the classic style of false teachers, they take ONE verse and build doctrine off it, completely missing the big picture....

sounds like those believing demons would be saved.

Exactly, like you take John 3:16 , just accept Christ into your heart, and ignore the rest, and say you are saved forever and ever.

you can know something is real but not know it personally..

in regards to Jesus.. someone can know He died and rose again but never have received Him into their life. In regards to demons.. they know Jesus is real and He rose again.. but they haven't and won't entrust their salvation with Him.
