Frankly, I think this is almost laughable how commentaries (which I like) sometimes attempt to distance things like fear and trembling from each other. Some things like this remains too close a call to say so.
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
And so, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed,
not only when I was with you but even more now that
I am absent, continue to work out your salvation
with fear and trembling.
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1 Timothy 5:20, Philippians 2:12, 1 Corinthians 2:3, 2 Timothy 1:7
