Jesus said, “You will know them by their fruits.” What are “good fruits”?

[16] You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?
[17] So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.
[18] A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.
[19] Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
[20] Thus you will know them by their fruits. Matthew 7:16-20 RSV

Galations 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

I like the fruits in Matthew 5

3 poor in spirit
4 those who mourn
5 the meek
6 those who hunger and thirst for righteousness
7 the merciful
8 the pure in heart
9 the peacemakers
10 the persicuted for righteousness sake

Watermelon, grapes, pineapple...:D

Seriously, good fruits, these are what we do that seem to show we are Christians. First in foremost, we live by not doing evil things. That is the basic level here. Beyond that, our faith should move us to do good things instead of just avoiding bad things. We do things like clothes the naked, feed the sick, give drink to the thirsty, love our neighbor, and so on.

This Scripture is very helpful, I think, but I find the word “longsuffering” a little intimidating. What exactly does “longsuffering” mean?

Longsuffering, enables you to forbear and forgive..Col.3:13 The ability to be longsuffering comes from the Holy Spirit (Colossians 1:11) and by loving God's law. (Psalm 119:165)
Longsuffering is also referred to as patience, James 1:14
But just a few things for longsuffering.

The word translated as "longsuffering" in some Bibles is μακροθυμία. θυμία itself is used two verses earlier and is often translated as "wrath" or "anger." μακροθυμία means it takes a long while (μακροs) to get you angry (θυμία).

Good question: It means patience. Patience builds up our faith.

“religious nuts.” Unloving people who say they are Gods children and they are mean hateful telling people they better read their bible, they better do this and do that but all they are are mean hateful bossey, they show no love Of God. God is love! If you can't show love to everyone and I mean everyone then God doesn't live inside of you.
