What does 'God is Love' mean?

That's a hard one for us Yahweh_is4me, it certainly is. I remembered, i think I shared this on here before, I harboured hatred for someone for a long long time think I was around 19/20 at the time, and even harboured it when I got saved, but eventually God got it out of me. it was hard though. but I realised the only person it was damaging was myself. that helped me a lot to let go and show love to that person.
So I can sympathise with you 100 % Yahweh_is4me

God is love in that there is no love without Him, or in other words, all love comes from Him. Just as He is light, there is not any light that has come from some other place. Just as He is life, there is no other life that has come from another place. Just as He is truth, there is no other truth that has come from some other place.

Since it is our nature to sin and hate, the very fact that we can love, greatly proves the existence of God.
As a result of "The Fall," every imaginable sin came into the world. Yet we all still have the ability to love because God/Christ dwells within us.
And because of love, IMO, we (people in general) have a conscience, which helps us to distinguish between wrong and right, good and bad.
If He wasn't love, just imagine how the world would be.
