I have read the book of Genesis, and to me, we were suppose to be something more, then what we are now. Did you know that as soon as Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge, of Good and Evil, that they felt awkward, Scared, and basically aware that they were naked. LOL. I mean really, if you think about it, they were basically walking around the Garden of Eden, naked, but as soon as they ate that fruit, they felt like they had to cover themselves, when God was calling for them. We weren't suppose to know these emotions like awkwardness, fear, and every single thing that came from that fruit. So what exactly do you think, we were suppose to be if Adam and Eve didn't eat from the Tree. Let me hear your opinions and thoughts on this subject.

Thank you

For a start we were supposed to be obedient to God...thus able to progress in our development.
Even at our human creation we were NOT already perfected. We were 'very good but not yet perfect...

because we still had to eat from the tree of LIFE which would have 'nourished us UNto perfection.

I theorize that the garden in Eden would have essentially spread as mankind multiplied, and would have grown into Heaven on earth, essentially. That is, if they had chosen to eat the fruit from the tree of life instead, what I think would have happened.

But, I should add, God knew that they were unfortunately not going to make that choice. So remember, the cross was not plan B, either.

I once heard the testimony of a man who was held captive by guerilla soldiers in the jungles of south america and he was kept prisoner in a dark cave which was filled with unpleasant creatures (I won't go into detail)... He said he had prayed and prayed and at one time he felt that he had actually died and visited God. He was told a few things but one of the things he was told was that God meant for earth to be a paradise to be enjoyed before entering heaven. I believe it was in response to asking God why there was so much evil in the world. Anyway, that's what I read. The guy was eventually rescued.

:)Thats an Interesting thought,I was thinking that everything that GOD does Is perfect but man DID sin so I wonder what happened?

What happened was that man 'sinned...therefore man was not perfect though he was 'very good as far as the human physical creation went. Man had yet to be perfected in mind and spirit...to which God wanted our agreement and final choice...because we are to love HIM of our own free will and not like a Robot who has to be 'ordered around/commanded.
I'll say more another time to those who are interested !

If we look at Jesus after he was raised from the dead, we see what Adam and Eve could have been

Also, read the last 2 chapters of Revelation and then re-read Genesis 1-2 all together.

You might see something very important.

We would not be here. Adam and Eve did not procreate until after the fall.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground." That was before the fall.

Probably very much like children are before we teach them what to fear or hate.

Agreed, Magenta. Sometimes we actually do have to read the words written.

On another note, do you feel we are now relieved of that commission to populate and subdue the Earth?

That opens a can of worms. Different reading of Genesis 1 compared to Genesis 2.

Did sin and death enter into the world when Adam fell? If so then there would have been no reason or need to replenish the earth if death was not depleting life from off the earth.

Great philosophic discussion.

Did Adam still have all of his ribs at this point?

The woman wasn't physically made until later.

Genesis 3:16

To the woman He said,
“I will greatly multiply
Your pain in childbirth,
In pain you will bring forth children;
Yet your desire will be for your husband,
And he will rule over you.”

Based on this verse, it is assumed that If Adam and Eve had not fallen that they would have procreated and the woman would not have had any pain during childbirth, this was Eve's Punishment.

Hard to say that is conclusive. That is why we argue to this day over this subject. Just one more thing to ask God about in eternity.

Any way you read it, Genesis one and Genesis two precede the fall of man in Genesis three :)

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day. Genesis 1:31. The previous verse given was Genesis 1:28. Woman had already been made.

Yeah, I think we would have been what we are now, but without all the bad stuff..

We would have also been innocent, so sin wouldn't be a thing in that sense..

Again, we would have just enjoyed the creation without fear, questions, or philosophical approaches.

Before the fall, God created all life. After the fall, God handed that 'title' over to the woman. Hence we see the "woman/eshah" changed to Eve(the mother of all living.)

Gen 3:20
New International Version

Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.
